    There are a couple of routes that come to mind;
    Play the game and work it out as you go - kind of what I have been doing over the last few years
    or
    Look up someone like "alcast" https://alcasthq.com/ and do some reading / watch some videos on builds there

    (I am not favouring alcast - there are other websites with ideas on builds and how to progress)

    Good luck

    i have no idea what skills to level!

    All of them.

    OK, not every single one, but you should really have each skill in your Class Lines leveled to at least the Morph Stage (don't have to take the morph, but just be ready to). Same with your weapon skills. Not sure what the best AvA skills are, someone else can answer that.

    Now, this is not as daunting as it sounds. What I do when I am in a skill leveling frenzy is come up with a good 2, or 3, skill rotation and use the other slots to put skills I need to level. Even if they are from another weapon, like say, a Resto Staff skill. Then I go do PvE grinding in a Public Dungeon or favored grind spot, or, quest for that matter. Sure, it's not the most powerful rotation out there, but it will be effective at 90% of the PvE mobs, and it will get your skills ready for use.

    Then, you can make any build, or change any parts of your build, without a grind later on.

    Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    This should help. Easy as can be and you do tons of damage. Not overly complex, and a good way to get back into the game.

    Edit: Ah, you said PvP. Can't help you there...
