Let us turn off lightning effects during storms

I'm extremely sensitive to flashy lights. It's distracting on the low end and downright nauseating on the worse moments.

It seems it never stops storming in tamriel and lighting constantly flashing like a strobe light. It cuts my play time short unless I go to akari desert..akari desert is awesome no lightning ever.

I'm on xbox..please I beg of you.

Is there other areas like akari desert that does not storm? If like to adventure there if so. And buy a house. My house options are limited to non stormy areas

I wish hews bane didn't storm but it does.

Not something I've ever thought about as it doesn't effect me but I am trying to think of other zones for you.

I don't know if Eastmarch ever has storms as it's a snow zone, there is Hew's Bane from the thieves guild which is also desert based.

Someone somewhere sometime told me every time it rains in Tamriel, it's a Thunder Storm because of something to do with Sheogorath making it that way.

But I agree, I'm getting real tired of the thunder and lightning every single time it rains. It never even looks like a legitimate storm in the first place. The rain is barely more than a sprinkle cause ZOS probably doesn't want people's hardware to melt or something, and the sky only gets like, partly cloudy. I'd really appreciate them just overhauling the weather system.

Sadly this isn't Skyrim where I can just install a Weather Mod that adds like 40 different types of weather...

Huh Interesting, see I struggled with the lighting problems in Cyrodiil, until they allowed us to change the colors of the damage areas and stuff which now i'm able to see much more clearly, but Yes I can understand sensitivity to light, I tend to wear gunner glasses when playing in heavily populated areas where spells are going off constantly, but In the dark in Cyrodiil when it is thunder and lightning it is bright but its not a constant thing and only last a few minutes so I can deal.

I'm afraid I can't help you in a PVE area where it does not storm, this might be a thing to put forward to the devs especially if it is affecting a lot of players.

The boom of the thunder gets me more, to be honest. I'll be sitting in a dark and quiet room playing ESO, heading to the bank in Vulkhel Guard, and all of a sudden there is this "CRACK...BANG". Someday, ZOS is going to have to pay a laundry bill.

It does rain a lot in the game, but weather used to be all local to you and you alone. Probably still is. A weather setting in the client would have no impact on what happens to anyone else in the game, if that is the case.

Reading this and having played the game for almost three years, I love thunderstorms and have been disappointed there are so few in Tamriel. Normally when it rains it just rains briefly and then disappears, occasionally I see thunderstorms but not to the level some people here have suggested.

If it is client side than mine is borked and it flashes the lightning for like 10 minutes straight. It's really bad..all it is doing is a bright light blinking constantly..doesn't even resemble real lightning.

Such a pain and makes my stomach hurt. I'm just glad I'm not prone to seizures or I'd be in serious trouble.

Actually..what's interesting is if it's storming in storm haven..it's not like I can just go to Glenbura because I've tried and it storms everywhere! The storms are not area events bUT full on server events.

I'm actually always underwhelmed when it's bad whether in ESO. Usually it's hard to see that it's even raining because the storms are so weak, so that the lightning lighting (haha) is actually noticeable is a plus in my book. I actually would have liked storms and lightning to be MUCH more violent, decrease visibility with HEAVY rain that reduces fire damage and things like that. But I know this will never happen due to the streamlined casual design of the game.

I understand that it would be nice for some players like you to be able to turn off lightning because of sensitivity to flashing lights and I am all for more customization and options. Unfortunately my guess is that there are probably very few players like you so not something ZOS is likely to spend time on implementing.

I remember in original morrowind game the sandstorms being so bad that the character would put their hands 8n front of their eyes..than you couldn't see.

And please don't ever burst my bubble again..I don't need a dose of reality I need dreams come true talk =)
