I have only started and entered the Clockwork city for the first time so please no spoilers. But what I've seen here so far was beyond my wildest expectations. The starting quest Knives and Long Shadows alone was very cleverly done and took me to many places in Tamriel. I cannot recommend it enough to start the quest by visiting the Mage's guild and not Fyr alone.

This is so beautifully done, full of drama, suspense and mystery, please DO make this kind of material for future chapters and DLCs in ESO. Keeping us glued to the screen.

@ZOS_GinaBruno - poking you, so you know it's not only when something isn't right in the game. :D

Agreed. CWC is my favorite update (story wise) since Orsinium.

I found it pretty nifty! That's the kind of DLCs I love seeing in my ESO! Atmosphere, landscape, story... I was pleased.

...makes me wonder if I should build up my Kahjiit alt as apostle-fan... then she could be... clockwork-kitty! :p;)

I find CWC even better than Orsinium, especially the main story with its interesting characters, riddles and surprises. The artwork is great as ever, but finally the ESO main quests are also nearing the point of quality Skyrim had. Hopefully all upcoming DLC will be that good. Good job, ZOS!

There's much to like about the Clockwork City main quest line. Indeed, for me it's up there with the best and most "epic" in the game. (Main quest, Rivenspire, Wrothgar) That said:
    1. There's a lot of running through similar-looking tunnels or hallways. I felt like I was in a Star Wars game, or perhaps even a Dr. Who episode.
    2. The events can be a bit confusing. As you know from the first quest, some of the antagonists are "shadows". Other characters are crows. The visuals on neither are all that clear.
    3. The pacing of the story-telling can be odd.

Also, this is definitely a zone where you should listen to "random" NPC dialog, read documents that are lying around, etc.. For example:
    1. When you first get to the city gates, you can hear a Khajit trying to bribe a quasi-guard for admittance to the city. These become characters/plot points later on.
    2. When you first overhear Chancellor Gascone talking in the hallway, he's expressing strongly anti-immigrant opinions. OK; nothing unusual there. But then almost the first thing you are told about him is that he demands his subordinates praise him all the time. Sound like any current US presidents you can think of? :)
    3. There are various robot jokes. My favorite was the retail clerk who had been imperfectly reprogrammed from guard duty and asked "How may I detain you today?"
    4. Hints are dropped in various places about Sotha Sil's past and, to a lesser extent, Luciana's as well.

    And by the way:
    • Divath Fyr is a character in the original 9 blue crafting motif books.
    • The crows are a reference to the Crows Wood public dungeon.
    • The love poem bit echoes the Hoarfrost Downs quest line in Rivenspire, which everybody should do because it's imaginative, funny, and a very easy way to get fast quest XP. Indeed, you should do it multiple times, as you have multiple choices, and there are three different outcomes worth seeing.
    • I think Luciana is a lot like Lyris Titanborn.

I think i begged here for *no spoilers* please. Even analysis can still spoil or hint some things.

The whole Clockwork city reminds me on some futuristic, sci-fi but also bureaucratic surveillance society. Terry Gilliam films come to mind (Brazil, 12 Monkeys). Top work Zeni. /kowtow

I adore CwC. The lore, the setting, the environment.

The stories could have been a tiny bit more intriguing, but were still very enjoyable, if predictable.

The new apostle style looks gorgeous.

I want costumes with robotic parts on.

    More pets and mounts too.
    Just, more CwC stuff.

So, my main (and only) complaint would be that i think CwC deserved a bigger DLC.
Struggling to find a new class to call home. Please send help.

I'm very glad to hear so many good things about the story. I'm excited for when I go through and play through the CWC storyline. It'll be awhile though...I'm saving it for when I finish the DC quests, main quest, Wrothgar, and Vvardenfell quests first at least. I tried doing it on a new character, but it felt weird so I stopped.

It is pretty amazing, it just builds, it takes the best parts from the original quests in TES III, and builds them into something incredible.

But I'm sure someone will be along in this thread shortly to lecture us all on how it fails and how the game is actually dead.

I just enjoyed that they resurrected Frank Loyd Wright to do the architecture concepts
    -Immortal Redeemer-
    -Extinguisher of Flames-
    -Gryphon Heart-
    -Potato-

If I edited a post, it was for spelling. It is always because of spelling....

Meh.. thematically and conceptually its great. But like most updates in eso, it feels like a exhibit, museum, themepark modeled after an actual peice of ES lore (just like morrowind chapter). Its but a husk of what it is trying to represent. Playing through the zone in an afternoon only made me really wish for a fully realized large scale explorable landmass which we will likely never see. Oh well.

The only emotional rise i got out of it was helping the crow impress his bae.

I finished the Clockwork City story in like 3 days and am trying to complete everything in the zone. It is extremely well done and possibly the best DLC imo! In fact, pretty much everything about this patch is fantastic.

It’s a shame that game performance has deteriorated at the same time likely due to bugs they didn’t find before launch (mainly a console issue) :unamused:

I didn't think I would be all that thrilled with it. But I have completed it one two characters, and plan to doing it again on the rest. It creates it's own feel from the other zones. I'm very happy with the work they did with this DLC. Everything from the feel of the zone, to the story, the art, even the new motifs. Very glad I have access to it and played through.

Yep, we didn't wait long, we got the first part.

Never before we had this sci-fi, paranoid surveillance atmosphere in any ES game to date. And this was shown so well. The more I sink into the quests the more I'm falling in love. I genuinely feel at unease there.

Actually as someone who is still playing TES III Morrowind, I prefer Zenimax's take on clockwork city. It really puts an emphasis on the mystery it was and is DLC content we needed in a long time (Morrowind, DBH, and Thieves were just not that interesting to me).

Spreading the good news and my true admiration for this outstanding new DLC is not me being "overhyped", it's me having pure joy while playing something I deeply love - an ES game. Wish all people could find what drives them do good.

I love how it alludes to TESIII:mournhold such as almalexia killing Sotha Sil. And iirc the place where you find Sotha Sil's body in mournhold is the same as a certain place in CWC.
