I can confirm it drops outside Vvardenfell now. Just got mine from an intermediate level strongbox in Wayrest. I had just stopped looking for it on purpose and just wanted to loot some people and their houses and got the Cheese in a locked house's box. Still can't believe I finally got it.

I got my first from a lockbox in home in Sentinel, across the street from the fighters guild, a little home were the changed cat/orj sits next to it.

Seems pretty clear that everyone who has had it drop was farming for something else, and attained "The Cheese" as a side effect of that.

AKA, don't bother farming specifically for it. Just play, and "The Cheese" might find you.

It will not be sold, unless I find another one.

And for that life complete part: No way, on to the next farming project. Still need to get that patch note announced hourglass plan that is said by the patch notes to drop from time obsessed priests at the Gold Coast. XD

FWIW I looked at said hourglass in preview... I can't see a difference between it and Redguard Hourglass of Desert Sands. Unless preview was broken. I'm not wasting 500k on a new plan that's identical to one I have.

Some people have been playing for quite a while or focus on gold earning rather than base game (I was that way in wow). As such 600k is very different to them thab you or myself.

Try not to judge another's perspective from where you sit. A dehydrated, well fed person would see pouring water on dirt very differently than a hungry, well hydrated individual.

My first I found (on my main) was in Rawl'kha in Reaper's March.

Found a second on an alt in the Redfur Trading Post in Grahtwood.

Both in safeboxes. It's just a random reward you can get along with the coins or green/blue/maybe purple lootable stolen items.

Eradrann isn't the first person who's found multiple. I open a lot of lockboxes all the time as I play, even more when I'm looking for something. Still no cheese. I wonder if ZOS determines the drop rate based on your Crown Store purchases?

Question for those who've found The Cheese - was this in any lockbox, or only Advanced or Master? I rarely get purple loot for anything but Advanced, so was wondering if this was true of The Cheese.

Mine was in an intermediate locked strongbox. No idea if that is the correct word for the english lock. In German it's"durchschnittlich", the one after easy I think.

In game they're called "lockboxes," but "strongbox" is synonymous.

I think that he/she was trying to ensure that they used the right word referring to the level of difficulty, which in this case would be intermediate. Gotta love the German language!

There is a provisioner npc in Eldon root, as you spawn at the Wayshrine turn around to face the main entrance into the tree and North East you will see a stall, thats where the provisioner can be found milling around, if the directions seem a bit sketchy then just think of the NPC noble who drops the wood elf throne BP... its almost at the start of his walk from when he spawns in..

Yes, provisioner is a theiving type. When you crouch down behind an NPC their "type" is labeded in parenthses. Provisioners are not always in kitchens! There is an argonian in the Vivec City inn, she is a provisioner.
