Pretty much every MMO has the same thought. Thats because after initial hype there is gradual decline with spikes around expansions and promos. The trick is to have as many new players as you have vets deciding they have had enough. It's why I always felt the champion point system is a bad idea. Catch up mechanics or not; last thing people want is to be chasing a moving goal line and getting smacked down while they do.
Kind of funny reading these comments, just goes to show that some people haven't actually created a new character and quested in awhile. As someone who constantly creates and deletes characters, I constantly see new characters in overland content all the time, so no, the open world of ESO is not underpopulated in the least.
Furthermore, this game is carried by PVE QUESTERS... 'PvE Endgame' and 'PvP' are both minorities in comparison to the players who are here to actually play the game- you know- the storylines, questing, crafting, etc. These players then create new characters, and play all over again, buying tons of stuff from the Crown Store along the way.
So before people begin to judge the health of ESO based upon 'PvE Endgame' and 'PvP', let's just remember where the MAJORITY of the players are, and they are not solely in either of those two groups.

Well, now I'm confused.
The point, that you admit to not seeing, is to discourage new and returning players.
This is fundamentally a good game; ruined by greed.

you do realize most people don't play via Steam right?...damn you sound like one of those people with facebook "you don't own a facebook account you don't exsist!" seriously same thing applies here...well guess what...im not playing on steam but im here!
You should do like me and play the game...as long as you enjoy it and find people to do what you like...why do you care about statistical crap? if it was that bad ZoS might have done/said something or worst *** down the servers if the profit was low...so stop wasting ur time on charts and instead spend it playing ESO!
Lol this *** again.
According to the forums, ESO has died every major patch since the last beta cycle before launch.
Quit being dumb.

So if anyone here had to guess, which has the highest population? PC? PS4? Xbox?
My guess = PS4.
Why? Because PC players have other MMORPGs to choose from. Xbox players strike me as being more into sports and Call of Doody games.
Is this correct?

Look at Swtor, it finally server merged into mega servers that's a bad sign for that game since it had plenty of servers before I know ESO has mega servers but they had them since the start

This happened because the population plummeted when the dev team decided to only focus on story content for an entire year, following the logic that the "majority" play story content. surprise surprise, when they did that, a massive chunk of the population left. Why? Because most people want variety. Luckily swtor has a new creative lead so they are getting a few players here and there back by releasing content for everyone. Pvp, story pve, endgame pve, etc.
