If morrowind broke your trust then really there isn't anything to rebuild that trust. Honestly come back if you enjoy playing the game but if you cannot without ZOS rebuilding that broken trust, it'd be best to stay away.

I agree, because the fact is, every year they will be released a PAID 'chapter'... so if that was the reason ZOS lost your trust, then I don't see how that can be rebuilt since they plan to continue that format.

Without knowing what platform you play on and why Morrowind so discouraged you, it's hard to give a reasonable response.
I've been playing since the first closed Beta. Admittedly I've taken a couple breaks to keep from getting burned out. But I'm still playing and having fun.

    Corporate culture does not change.
Zenimax has their way of doing things. That hasn't changed over the history of ESO and will not ever change. These are decisions that are so deeply entrenched they will never disappear.

    Examples:
Don't give something for free that you can charge for in the future
Create a time waster then offer to sell a way to make it shorter (also see next point)
Don't charge a fair price when people will pay higher
Never be ashamed to sell anything in the crown store, no matter how bad the quality (see previous point)
Don't address any problems unless approved to do so
Don't bother with cheaters and exploiters until it reaches a boiling point and threatens sales
Imply promises without actually promising anything
Annual and quarterly revenues are more important than the long term
Sell products by offering something that gives purchasers an edge in game and then nerf it after sales decline
Have at least one broken and exploitable feature in every product and dont' attempt to fix it until after sales decline

I'm impressed by latest patches balance, features and so on. I think ZOS is doing fine lately (at my surprise)

My only concern is BG but it is still early in the BG life.

I gave it a no vote, at least for now. the game is unplayable in Cyrodiil due to the infinite load screens. I've got 200 mbs and still get stuck. The PvE side is better, till you try to get to a popular area of CWC. Then once again, infinite load screens.

It's a great game, but I'd give it a month, then ask the question again.

    No.

It's not that I don't love the game. I do. But if ESO has already driven you away twice, not nearly enough has changed that I'd imagine you'd enjoy coming back.

    A. The storytelling, worldbuilding, and art teams remain genius-level, and in fact, they're only getting better.

    B. The gameplay team remains terrible, and gameplay changes this year have been nothing but a string of indefensible decisions. Plus, they're firmly committed to RNG grinds with abominable droprates.

If Paragaph A is enough to make up for Paragraph B for you, you'll enjoy ESO. I do, for exactly that reason. But if Paragraph A was capable of outweighing Paragraph B for you, I doubt you would have quit twice already.

Honestly it depends what you want out of the game and what your expectation are.
    Strong Points
    • Story and questing
    • World and lore
    • Mechanics
    • Dungeon design
    • Visual and audio design
    Weak Points
    • Competitive play
    • PvP stability
    • Game balance

The weaknesses by no means make it bad in those areas, just not as strong as other game games offer right now.

Something I learnt after a six month hiatus and has made me much happier is the following.
The game is very enjoyable if you don't take it seriously. The moment you start to take it serious and expect more than the game is then you'll start to run into frustrations.
This means don't imagine "what it could be" but just enjoy it for what it is and chat to ZOS about ideas of what it could be with no expectations.

Pretty much what I had in mind so just gonna leave this here as a reminder. I've very recently switched my play style (2 days-ish), seriously had my cursor about 20 pixels away from the "good by forever" button, but I slept, and then decided to catch up on some of the newer content I am behind on. It's refreshing... but I need to change something because it is silly easy for me since I came from a more competitive game mode. Other benefit is my sessions(for lack of a better word) are shorter since nothing is so captivating that I have to keep going. Plus new zones to explore, which is the real reason why I like Elder Scrolls.
Looking for broken things in hopes they may be fixed. I've given up, my game literally works differently from yours.
64M+ AP across 9 toons... kinda makes me a GO

It's been several months since I've logged in to ESO, or had the game installed. Morrowind DLC nearly broke my trust in Bethesda altogether but I decided to give the company and the devs some time, to hopefully come to their senses :) With much needed bug fixes and some of the worst latency of any modern MMO, has any of that been improved since Morrowind DLC release?
Would love some honest replies here, as I'm getting burnt out on all the other titles I'm currently playing, maybe ESO can fill the upcoming void :)

At this point if your looking to play a MMO dont bother returning. If you just want to kick around solo and make another character and play the new zones go for it. but there is no longevity here. the game is a recycle of content. just new landscape. it has not evolved at all. Latency seems to be a problem thats expected with a newer patch. Bug fixes? well some of them are features now lol thats how ZOS spins it . Nothing has changed since morrowind its the same drab single player game online.

    That's what I regret
Huge lag in cyrodiil , yes almost hit 2018 but not yet fixed , technically its impossible .

It’s the same old problem with pvp in almost every mmo... too many people= too much strain on the server and clogged data pipeline.

People want to fight in huge epic battles but when they all do ... it’s a slideshow. Hopefully someone solves this before I die of old age :(

Pretty much nothing has changed since morrowind.
So no, in your case Its not worth a third chance.

As for myself Im just waiting for a different meta.
Right now PvP is plagued with permaroll permacloak nightblades that are also able to 2 shot people for some reason,
mDks who permablock but still land 8-10k hits,
Wardens that are so ridicilous Im just gonna call them a meme.

If you had problems with the Morrowind release, I'm not sure what you are hoping for. The changes that Morrowind brought to the base game have not been reversed, PVE is still very much in the style of Post-Morrowind with some gear changes in HotR, PVP is still very much in the style of Post-Morrowind with a few new sets from HotR with the same loading screens or worse depending on who you ask.

Horns of the Reach released 2 new DLC dungeons. Clockwork City is about 10 hours of content that's a good followup to Morrowind's storyline, with repeatable dailies very much in the same style as Morrowind.

For the most part, if you didn't like ESO after Morrowind, not much has changed in the broad scheme of things.

The only truly beneficial change I can think that ZOS made to the game with Clockwork City was reworking the Group Finder so that the random dungeons unlock progressively according to their difficulty, not zone. Now, normal dungoens have the 2 and DLC dungeons unlock at level 45, sparing level 10 ESO+ members from being forced into DLC dungeons disproportionately. For Veteran dungeons, DLC dungeons, City of Ash II, and Crypt of Hearts II now unlock at CP 160. This change makes leveling new characters, alts, or just running random dungeons so much nicer than it was before.

I'm with this guy If you left in the first place then why come back hoping for the best new thing? Been playing since release on Xbox I have 6000 hours on my main PVE NB and a few thousand hours on my pvp toon as well just take breaks and all will be good

This is not something we can answer for you.

It is completely subjective and based entirely on your feelings/perceptions of things.

I currently sub but will not renew because I feel I need to spend too much extra money for things I personally enjoy on TOP of what I pay monthly, which is insane/ridiculous. Either give me the sub and give me everything or make it free to play with all the current ESO Plus perks PLUS the optional mounts/costumes/etc as additional cost. Don't try to pull the monthly subscription plus extra money on top of that for pixel art. I'm too old to fall for that crap anymore.

Again, it is truly entirely subjective depending on what you enjoy and what kind of entertainment money you have to spend on pixels. If all you're interested in is gameplay/combat, have at it. You don't need to spend a dime to enjoy yourself (I don't think but I could be wrong because I honestly am bored of pure combat and prefer to do other stuff for my enjoyment).

If, however, you love costumes, mounts, pets and/or housing plus the perks of ESO Plus, you need to figure out what is most important to you and how much real-life money you can afford/are willing to part with comfortably.

That's all it comes down to.

For me personally, I'm just waiting for another game that is in development (which I won't mention) before I drop this one. The only thing keeping me here is that there is nothing else out there that I want to play during my free time at the moment. If it wasn't for the micro (macro?) transactions on top of ESO Plus, I'd think differently, but this game just costs too much monthly for me to PERSONALLY enjoy long-term (based entirely on what I'm personally interested in) or think it is worth it for the basic time-waster it truly is compared to real life experiences.

I personally enjoy the game. I feel it is one of the better titles out there or I would not be playing it. However, the game is what it is. Has not changes much. Like wont change much. Many of their issues are more deeper rooted than just a simple patch fix.

Basically if you didn't care for the game before; I do not believe it will magically be the title you will suddenly want to play.

Yes, it is definitely worth playing again, there are currently some issues on consoles, and a few PC gamers are experiencing them too. However, nothing beats playing this game with some friends - it's always a laugh and a time-worthy investment.

I've made some great friends on this game. I find playing on my own, or with them is highly enjoyable, the key is to not get too pent up every time there's lag or you have to relog, just have fun and take it easy :)
