Xbox One X(My Honest Opinion)

Honestly nothing has changed besides the visual as they have stated. The framerates are honestly the same maybe 1-5 frames better but you still get huge frame rate drops. And occasionally my bars would freeze upon switching. This will be my end with ESO until something changes. Obviously, the CPU on the Xbox One is not that powerful as it uses the old jaguar technology of AMD and ESO being a CPU intensive game, it will most likely never get better unless they make the game more GPU intensive on the console side where Xbox One X thrives the most. I mean the game looks very good and can easily be compared to PC on Ultra settings. However, the game still feels sluggish, you see consistent frame drops, and to me there is still no meaningful content. I know CWC has come out with a trials but after maybe two weeks of that what else do we do. Plus with framerates being awful on console. Theres no point for me to keep playing at least

Any opinions

thanks for the review, im looking at all the xbox one x posts here today to decide if I want to buy one. side note: I noticed freezing upon bar swapping last night, and often. maybe unrelated to the console but something else?

it does seem that the limitation of ESO itself are presenting themselves...I'm about 90% pro buying one. Im buying an SSD today til the budget opens up in a few weeks to hold me over, lol, it seems like that is still a benficial purchase even for the one x.

A update was just released and there always issues after a patch. If you got a 1x for just ESO you wasted your money. The issue with this game is the COd and no hardware will change that.

Too early for me to give a more complete review but some things I have noticed:

    Water is beautiful
    Draw distance improved
    Graphics are more crisp
    Shadows are more defined
Battlegrounds are smooth (were smooth before though)

Playing on a Samsung 4K UHD Curved TV.

I'd like to test Cyro later and maybe some trials later in the week if I get time. This will really test FPS.

I did notice one fault in my combat text not being centered (probably due to it being a higher resolution).

Edit: I'm adding that I'm using a Samsung 250GB SSD dedicated for this game.

OP is correct. Game looks great on here but there are more crashes than ever and frame rate drop still an issue. Going to invest in a SSD and see if that helps as a last resort but we might be dealing with spaghetti code here folks.

It's patch day. There is probably a massive amount of people playing today that don't play on a regular basis. For me personally, I watched a buddy of mine play on his PS4 Pro today and his game was definitely running smoother than it was before the patch.

COd? The issue with this game is that it is CPU intensive... I know people complain on PC about ESO but I played it on PC as well and I experience little to no issues when playing on PC. Consoles have it much harder because the Processor inside consoles are literally garbage. They are compared to the equivalent to an i3 or lower.

IMO, ZoS needs to work with another developer so that they get more accomplished with each and every patch. After playing on the Xbox One X some more I noticed that it does play a lot better than the OG Xbox One. You still get frame rate drops but some how the better graphics can make up for that.

However, I have not ran a trial yet, I've only done some dungeons that were very bad performing pre-xbox one an pre CWC. And they performed a lot better.

People flipping out over Xbox one x to buy or not to buy. For eso specifically if you already have Xbox one, probably save your money. If you don’t own an Xbox, and want to play eso among other games then I’d say get the one x.

ESO on One X can only be stretched so far. ESO wasn’t developed for One X from the ground up. There will be games on one x, built to take advantage of the hardware that will look fantastic on a nice 4K tv.
