PS4 Performance Update

✭✭✭I've been playing on PS4 for several months now, and have never experienced any widespread issues. My game froze like twice; had to log off and log back in again, which fixed the problem.
Are you guys using an ethernet connection? As opposed to Wi-Fi?

Actually, I totally agree with this guy. I’ve played since launch on PS4.
I very seldom have load or freeze issues. They get a free pass on launch dates of dlc or events. Chokepoints happen, I’m not upset.0 -

There is a PS4, and PS4 PRO. These are delivering different quality experiences of the same the same game.
So, someone crying about game performance needs to specify what system/platform they are using before making broad statements.
Same goes for any Xbox threads.

Load screens in Cyrodiil are out of control. I can't play at all in the current state unless I ride everywhere. Unfortunately, my mount keeps getting stuck in invisible quicksand every three seconds.

I'm probably just putting in an hour or two each time I play, and the game would crashed as least once or twice, in the mist of combat or during a dungeon daily. Other than that, it does seems graphic and sceneries are looking clearer and better with each patch/update.0 -

I already erased my save data and restarted.
Every single port I attempted in Cyrodiil resulted in a restart.

Damn, you're either very lucky or have never played on PC. For me PS4 Pro (no experience with basic version) is laggy and choppy as hell. I wait like 10 seconds for NPCs to pop up (like stablemasters, merchants, quest givers), whenever something happens on screen or something new has to be loaded, there is a terrible stutter and general frame drops. Trials are nearly unplayable. Latency is very high (I eyeball it to be 200+ when it's not lagging, while on PC it's usually ~50). Everything is more smooth in high resolution mode, but the high fidelity mode (which really looks a litle more like PC - ambient occlusion, water reflections, etc.) is terrible... Unless you're just questing. Trying to barswap for few seconds is actually normal on PS4 Pro. I really can't grasp why didn't they add a third mode (normal PS4 1080p with improved fps... or at least stabilized fps).
Then try to do things like queuing for a random and doing something at the same time. Every 8-10 seconds there is a 1 second pause, when you can't do anything (the game's checking queue status or something?).
People say it's not as bad on the old PS4, but I won't really know unless I'm able to play myself.
Oh, I hate PVP on PS4 Pro. I can manage myself, but I'm not a good player, so I die every now and then. The loading screens on console are terrible! Sometimes things like repairing a wall can result in 5 minutes loading screens. And yes, before you ask. I tried removing all the data and redownloading the game. Didn't solve anyhing except that I had to set some things again.
If it is really worse on the old PS4, then.... Damn, kudos to all the users for staying with the game.
Fortunately, I'm not playing that much on console, a few times per month with my friends.
BTW. How the hell do you control pets on a console? There is some useless stuff like emote quickslot (holding right d-pad) but there seem to be no way to call off the pet(s). I hate using pets on my sorc on a console, even though petsorc is probably the best anti lag setup you can get.
One thing I like about consoles is gamepad. Now, I'm mostly using DualShock on a PC too (though, on my magsorc I've assigned long d-pad right press to pet command instead of the useless emotes). It's so much more convinient to use, much less stress on my hands and a lot of things are actually easier on a gamepad (and to some you have to just get used to, like barswap, which is not an issue after a while). I could never understand why in most console games you can't customize your controls. I've owned pretty much every console since nes, through sega megadrive and nintendo 64 to psx-ps2-ps3-ps4. So no, I'm not a typical PC only gamer.0 -

I'm running cable to Cat 7a standards. It prevents the Illuminati from succeeding in its constant attempts to use drive-by wireless tech to sniff my packets. Cat 7a also helps minimize the effects of the replay signal off my hat. If you find any of this hard to believe, it's no more far fetched than smooth gaming on console right now...0 -

It's not an attack, though. If we don't bring up the issues, they won't know about them to fix them.

So, it's not an attack to say there is an issue. I meant what I said, I'm glad you guys that aren't experiencing it get to play with no issues. For the rest of us, it's pretty damn annoying to have to shut down and reload the game everytime we use a wayshrine or leave a dungeon. Since Clockwork City launched, I’ve had *tons* of neverending load screens (have to close app -> relog) all over the game, a much less stable looking game performance (choppy is the best way to put it), and failing animations all over the game from NPCs everywhere at random (not too common).
My character also spawns totally invisible many times, and other players pop in around me as soon as my character becomes visible again.
ZOS promised so many performance improvements but right now there is nothing but disappointment from my side. Things got worse for me. Much worse. Clockwork City itself is amazing but their base game patch needs serious work.
As a side note, my game almost maintained 30FPS for about 15sec after crashing and running back to fight St. Olms in Vet Asylum Sanctorum. The memory leak in trials needs to go.2 -

✭✭Never ending load screens in Cyrodiil meant I stopped and started the game more times after the update than I have ever done before in one session - even though there was nobody in the campaign (Kyne) according to the empty population bars.
