Hello
I am running an Nvidia 1080 card and a dell UP3216Q monitor. I don't have frame issues or anything like that. With my system and the game settings to 3840-2160. I still see like ginganto textures.I went through and made some settings to several files per reddit and here. Are we at 512 or 1024 textures? Knowing this would help me tweek my visuals to what is optimum for my system.

Thank you for any help on the matter.

Have fun in the game and never try to take a Cheeto from your cat.

I suspect (but have never really checked) that the texture resolutions aren't completely consistent. Older textures certainly feel lower rez than more recent ones. Now, it's possible that's simply the team getting a better grip on their tools, or it could be that the new textures really are higher res.

Thank you Starkerealm. I think that might be the case. So I will try to find a middle ground and leave it at that. 32 inches of screen is good enough for now.

No game will ever use the same resolution for every texture. There is absolutely no reason why a dinner plate should be using the same size texture as a robe.

Additionally, there's no relationship between screen resolution and texture resolution. Setting your game resolution to 3840x2160 will not make textures higher-res. It will make the overall image crisper, but it cannot create detail where none exists.

The only thing raising the resolution does for me is make the UI smaller. I just keep mine at 1920 x 1080. No need to over-tax the video card when you can't tell the difference in game textures.

3840x2160 is my default resolution for my system. When eso did it's detect and first time run on a new install it also set to that. Before this monitor I was running triple 1440's . I got rid of them to save desk space and this was on sale and a great deal of desk space was saved. albiet I only get 60 fps but I I'm to old to see the difference anymore.

I use the high resolution for my work.

I reckon I should of been more specific on resolution.

    Environment resolution
walls, cliffs, trees, rocks, dirt, sand, water. This is what I was referring to.

plates, cups, robes weapons I understand will have a different resolution.

I actually see ghosting now on the character selection screen. I can see the artifacts of the dovafly even though I don't have it activated. I can also see the artifacts on certain NPCs who supposedly Disappear. Pretty cool I never noticed that before. I am noticing more effects from fire and environmental s like reflections and and smoke. This makes it cool to me I like the detail.

If I tax the card too much and it goes bad I will just throw it away and get another. These newfangled things are impossible to repair now.

I hope that ESO updates the older zones in the next few years
