Prior to becoming an EMT, and acquiring my Bachelor's degree I did a lot of MMA, and as I'm waiting to get into the USAF as an officer I'm thinking about taking up Krav Maga.
Which makes me wonder, how many martial artists or service men/women do we have playing ESO?
I grew up really poor and thought boxing was my ticket to overcoming poverty. Started in 5th grade and continued until my sophomore year of college at which time I got my jaw broken in a match and had to get it wired shut. It was accept that I was risking that or find a different path for my future. Thankfully I had the foresight to not put all my eggs in that basket. I'm honestly scared to ever have to experience that again, it was awful, liquid diet and whatnot
I was in the Army, taught hand to hand combat, but like idk if anyone here really qualifies as an IRL warrior? Or if anyone should even want to aspire to such? But it is what it is.
Side note, *** the military, glad I'm out.

4 years in high school wrestling, two d III state championships at heavyweight. Around senior year, gave about 2-3 more years teaching the young'ns how to shoot singles and doubles.
Gods, I miss that.
Also thank you to those that served (USA here, but our allies are included too), much respect.
spent some time in junior high/high school wrestling...was okay physically - just didn't really have enough of a competitive nature...
had the opportunity to participate in plebe boxing at school...never forget one class we were working on our left jabs and this guy (whom just so happened to be a southpaw) dotted my nose really well...i remember sitting in the locker room afterward totally dazed and then threw up, going back to the barracks and telling the cadet in charge of quarters i didn't feel so good...i really didn't...
another class got a chance to fight someone whom absolutely bursted me down over and over and knocked both my contacts out in about 30 seconds...the rest of the fight i just spent lumbering after the flash continually getting dotted up...most injured thing was my pride though...on a positive note - later on got a chance to referee the dude's match whom had lit me up - i ended up having to stop his match cuz he got knocked out by someone else
was able to get revenge on folks though when we all had to take wrestling in our yearling year...
yeah, i'm gonna go out on a limb and say any past physical confrontations/training probably don't equate so well to whipping butt in pvp...

Judo way back when I was young. Older than dirt now. Also military. Now I practice Beer Can Tossing from the longest distance possible into my garbage can.
