Have not been able to log on since patch

I recognize that loading takes longer after a patch but it has been 20 minutes on my last attempt now and >3 attempts above 10 minutes each time but my screen is just perpetually loading after logging on. Have not been able to play the game yet. Anyone else having this issue?

You need to uninstall the whole game and try again.

Reset your router.

The game is loading files blah blah after each maint or update, so it can take a few minutes.

Or alternatively, launch the game after repair (if required), then shut down the exe from task manager, then boot it back up and you should be able to get to character select screen quite quickly.

i tried resetting my router and have used the repair option as well

the game still will not load at all to character screen, have even tried waiting >30 minutes and have also restarted my computer

Have you tried hitting settings and double checking your video settings are still set to your preferred settings? This patch didn't do it for me, but the last one changed a few of my settings and turned on anti-aliasing which I have never had turned on.

It may not help at all, but it couldn't hurt to check.

It's the bottleneck of people trying to login after the patch.

Reinstalling and repairing only serve to use up time ordinarily spent staring at the load screen.

It could be your ISP, your router, your lack-lustre PC:
my own experience suggests that these just combine to reveal a lack of capacity at the server end.

That's my experience; yours may vary. The consistent thing is 'busy periods'.

My PC is fine. But this seems like a ridiculous issue to be a common problem. How can it be so hard to log onto a game. And my settings did not change either.

I agree I am not sure if reinstalling the game will really do the trick though. And that would just take another day of downloading anyway.

yeah, i'm not fighting with this *** today. got kicked after a couple hours of play, can't log back in. 'error 303' 'you need to sacrifice your firstborn to molag bal' etc etc.

i'll check back later or tomorrow.

I cannot get to character select either. I have reset my router and checked my settings. Everything is normal, Except the not being to play the game part...

For anyone still having login issues, please try the troubleshooting found here and here. If you still encounter login issues after doing the steps that are linked, you can contact support for additional help.

oh oops! I accidentally sacrificed my second born! No wonder it did not work!

In all seriousness, I just ran the repair again after a couple of hours and it worked. It let me access the character select screen and now I am back in option. I did the repair manually through options though, previously the repair was prompted by the game itself and did not seen to have an effect

I had a case of precisely this - infinite loading screen after Monday's maintenance, fixed after the second time I ran repair (which went a lot quicker than the first time, by the way), separated by a few hours. Thank you for giving me the idea, especially as Support's response to me has, to put it mildly, not impressed.
