Sorcerer with pet or without?

I'm currently using 5 Necropotence and 5 TBS with the mage and the apprentice. Is not bad but I need to have the pet in both bars equipped. Yesterday I tried mother sorrows + TBS with the shadow and the thief, very good for pve, but not for pvp.

I say no for pvp, because it doesn't matter of dueling or what I see the most of the time the word: missed.

All my friends play NB all the time rolling, going invisible and evading with shuffle. Is a game to catch them.

I would like to know what's the effective build for dueling and cyro as mage sorc. Which are the options.

For dueling i liked a lot use pets. But in cyrodill I'm pretty sure is a joke.

I'm not using monster sets because I didn't like that there is no version of the skoria or Selene specially dedicated for sorcerer with shock or spell damage. Maybe I should use some...

For PvE pet is a must have in my opinion, the DPS it does is just too valuable. PvP I never used a pet, as I find it annoying. I usually play 5x Julianos, 5x Lich, 2x Shadowrend.

Well, it's how you want to play. If you want to slot either or both the clannfear and/or matriarch, then fine. You can practically beat most PvE contents with or without. However, for dps-wise, it's a lost with either is slotted, because it takes up two skill slots, one from each bar. That two slots, you are otherwise able to slot in others dps-inducing skills of a sorc, as part of your rotation. If you slot both the clannfear and matriach, then, you have to slot on both bars; otherwise it is not effective. However, those are four slots being used up.

Sure, it's an option and can be enjoyable rolling around in PvE land with the clannfear and/or matriarch, but it is not warranted for any vet dungeon or trial. Sometimes, I just feel like rolling around with either with one of my sorcs, but I never take it into a dungeon or trial. PvP.. ehh, I can't talk about that as I don't PvP. Also, either can be useful for a duel as it does give a bit of an advantage. It is like you're dueling two, or, one and a half toon or something. However, it can be perceived as cheating, though.

Pets arnt useless for PvP - just limited.

I don't bother with the duelling scene but hear that petsorcs are pretty strong there.

For open-world, the only viable pet is the twilight matriarch - kept mostly passive (and so pc-only).

5 Amberplasm 5 Julianos 1 Kena, 5/1/1 all impen. Apprentice mundus, whichmother's brew. No pets.

There's really no magical build that suddenly makes magsorc super OP compared to another magsorc build. As long as your sets generally boost spell damage, max magicka, and magicka regen, then the rest is up to you to deliver through good timing, reflexes, and a proactive shield defense.

Min stats I personally aim for:
40k mag - shield strength and damage
3200 buffed spell damage - damage
1700 mag regen - so you can do things

The only one in here that I'd call mandatory is the 40k mag. that's around the time your hardened ward can eat all of the damage from something like incap or snipe without your health getting hit too, the other two you just sort of tweak until you feel comfortable. I sort of chose my build to outburst pure sustain builds, but outsustain pure burst builds.
