i wanted to look for some way to make the outside of the tower looks good, but i can't find any suitable materials to cover up that flesh atronach skin.
so i ended up doing the opposite. i try to make it look even more ridiculous than it originally is:
i run out of gold so i can't decorate it all the way to the top yet
any suggestions for what i could put up there?

I would put some lights under the cap of mushrooms to make them even more visible at night cause they are the only nice looking thing from the fleshy exterior of this house ;-)1 -

✭✭✭You could just buy in Vvardenfell the biggest mushrooms, and add them to the tower´s main body, covering it, making the "flesh" invisible while keeping a telvanni mushroom feel. It will look just like a tower with a mushroom overgrowth, a tower full of fungi.5 -

✭✭✭Adding other mushrooms makes it tolerable for me. You'll see less of the awful texture.

✭✭I guess that's one way to go! I like the suggestion of adding more mushrooms to the exterior, though, myself.
I just focus on the door when I arrive at Tel Galen and try to ignore the exterior.0 -

✭I don't know why they did that, that house was expensive too, they should be ashamed of such sloppy and ugly work.
It would suffice to change the bright color to dark green and give it a bit of a fuzzy pattern in order for that material to look better and not like flesh.
ZOS really did an AWFUL job on this, I'm not into Telvanni style (fortunately) but even in that case, that atrocious look would have definitely prevented me to buy the house.
You could try what @TelvanniWizard suggested above. Though you have been quite creative
