How would you rate this years Witches festival? 5 Star being great and 1 star being lackluster.

I will choose 4 stars because of the double xp and plunder skulls received. I like the Thicketman mask so it was cool to get that. It could have been much better had they switched it up from last year or added new recipes and new motifs to collect. But overall I enjoyed it, I cant wait for the new life festival. Id much rather do dailies than farm bosses.

What are your thoughts?

The Place by Tony Walsh Please Read
This is the place in the North West of England

It’s ace, it’s the best and the songs that we sing

From the stands, from our bands set the whole planet shaking

Our inventions are legends! There’s nowt we can’t make and

So we make brilliant music. We make brilliant bands

We make goals that make souls leap from seats in the stands

And we make things from steel and we make things from cotton

And we make people laugh, take the mick summat rotten

And we make you at home and we make you feel welcome

And we make summat happen, we can’t seem to help it

And if you’re looking for history then yes, we’ve a wealth

But the Manchester way is to make it yourself

And make us a record, a new number one

And make us a brew while you’re up, love. Go on!

And make us feel proud that you’re winning the league

And make us sing louder and make us believe it

that this is the place that has helped shape the world

And that this the place where a Manchester girl

Name of Emmeline Pankhurst from the streets of Moss Side

Led a Suffragette City with sisterhood pride

And this is the place with appliance of science

We’re on it, atomic, we strut with defiance

In the face of a challenge we always stand tall

Mancunians in union delivered it all

Such as housing and libraries, and health, education

And unions and co-ops, the first railway station

So we’re sorry! Bear with us! We invented commuters!

But we hope you forgive us – we invented computers!

And this is the place Henry Royce strolled with Rolls

And we’ve rocked and we’ve rolled with our own Northern Soul

And so this is the place to do business, then dance

Where go-getters and goal setters know they’ve a chance

And this is the place where we first played as kids

And me Mam lived and died here, she loved it she did

And this is the place where our folks came to work

Where they struggled in puddles, they hurt in the dirt

And they built us a city. They built us these towns

And they coughed on the cobbles to the deafening sound

Of the steaming machines and the screaming of slaves

They were scheming for greatness, they dreamed to their graves

And they left us a spirit, they left us a vibe

The Mancunian Way to survive and to thrive

And to work and to build, to connect and create and

Greater Manchester’s greatness is keeping it great

And so this is the place now we’ve kids of our own

Some are born here, some drawn here but we all call it home

And they’ve covered the cobbles, but they’ll never defeat

All the dreamers and schemers who still teem through these streets

Because this is a place that has been through some hard times

Oppressions, recessions, depressions and dark times

But we keep fighting back with Greater Manchester spirit

Northern grit, northern wit in Greater Manchester’s lyrics

And there’s hard times again in these streets of our city

But we won’t take defeat and we don’t want your pity

Because this a place where we stand strong together

With a smile on our face, Mancunians Forever

And we’ve got this* as the place where a team with a dream (*Forever Manchester)

Can get funding and something to help with their scheme

Because this is the place that understands your grand plans

We don’t do No Can Do, we just stress Yes We Can!

Forever Manchester’s a charity for people round ‘ere

You can fundraise, donate. You can be a volunteer

You can live local, give local. We can honestly say

We do charity differently, that Mancunian Way

And we fund local kids, and we fund local teams

We support local dreamers to work for their dreams

We support local groups and the great work they do

So can you …help us help… local people like you?

Because this is the place in our hearts, in our homes

Because this is the place that’s a part of our bones

‘Cos Greater Manchester gives us such strength from the fact

That this is the place. We should give something back.

Always remember. Never forget. Forever Manchester.

    Too many frickin' branches!

I don't have a problem with getting furniture items in my Plunder Skulls. But I'm struggling to see a connection between burnt branches, saplings or shrubs and the Witches' Festival.

I would have preferred spooky pumpkin lanterns, and spooky skull lanterns, and broomsticks (a recolour of the Pay To Lose broom?). And maybe a witch's cloak on a peg (like the existing coat on a peg, but longer).

Would be sub zero, but I decided to go easy on Zos.
They infested plunder skulls with branched.
They made us wait 3min between skull drops.
This is the first PvE festival ever that I recieved and sent hate mail. It was related to timers.
Also, last but not least, I was not able to finish all skull hunts on all my alts. Also related to freaking timers.
That black stag 4k crown 24h limited sale was also a despicable move.
Positive thing about festival is that Zos gave players option to buy that house for in game coin as well. That was a surprise, even if I have zero interest in housing at its present state.

I loved it, I gained plunder skulls by doing what I would be doing anyway, without having to grind stuff or go out of my way. I loved that since I completed the achievement last year on my main, there was no pressure to get stuff done again within the limited timeframe. Nothing kills a game faster for me than pressure and stress.

The double XP was a nice bonus, the twigs can be used for fun projects. The masks are, again, quite hideous, but a bit better than last year.

    Hmm,

It was well thoughout the prizes where better. I enjoyed the housing materials and guts and spiders where a nice touch. Rnges was better ended up with 5 masks which I have or will be giving away. :D I bought mine the dungeon before it dropped. The crown items where at decent prices, but at last didn't feel fresh overall in the event.

I think it would be immersion was lacking. I didn't feel like using polymorph this year then again last year was 4 to 6 week long event so.... mind you I think it might help to freshen up polymorph, npc dialogue. Also maybe make a way to play tricks on people?

I didn't grind too hard, I didn't receive masks, but I have firewood for rest of my life! Who is the first to build giant scarecrow out of those sticks? Furniture mats were actually helpful.

I gathered nice amount of cp and finally was able to dye my costume orange.

Some holiday decoration in towns would be great.

    Groupfinder:
The worst part is when it finally puts you in a group, your healer turns into a werewolf, your tank has 14k HP and the dps is heavy armor, using a restro staff and a two handed sword on the backbar. Then comes the 15 minute penalty before the cycle starts anew.

    Rulz of Morrowind:
    • The first rule of Morrowind is: You do not talk about Morrowind.
    • The second rule of Morrowind is: You do not talk about Morrowind.
    • Third rule of Morrowind: Someone yells NDA stuff, uploads images, streams, the game is over.
    • Fourth rule: only invited players can test.
    • Fifth rule: one invite at a time, fellas.
    • Sixth rule: crying or bashing on pts.
    • Seventh rule: NDA will go on as long as they have to.
    • And the eighth and final rule: If this is your first invite at Morrowind, you have to play.

aw diddums. you have issues. you didnt enjoy playing the game at all. all you focussed on was 'i didnt get enough drops'. you didnt get enough skulls for 6 characters (600!) you had to wait 3min to get another skull. you didnt get the achievement. wah wah wah

im not sure if i wanna know what the hate mail was for. maybe you whined too much in the game about the event.

i went out and grouped for skulls and had fun. enjoyed playing the game and managed to pick up at rough estimate, 250 skulls. things slowed down the last few days. but i had fun. as did many other people. came across some awesome tanks, picked up some tips on various bosses. got a heap of skyshards, some mage books (i dont use the addon). there was more going on than usual because of the event. but it seems some people couldnt see any of it.

    overall good,

First time for the event and brought two characters to level 50 with the xp bonus so now doing story missions will contribute to CP gains.

Completed all event achievements on 3 characters, will do 4th and any new ones next year, but was able to buy the cottage with gold not crowns.

Didn't mind all the branches as they were used in the cottage grounds. plenty of room and totally fitting.

Only real moan was that RNG was, as usual, pretty cruel, many hundreds of plunder skulls and only one mask.

Loved the Cauldron Costume...until the festival was over and the costume no longer worked.
Losing the XP bonus I could agree with, but taking the costume with it? Whats the point of the cauldron then?
The rest was cool except for the 3 minute cooldown on skulls.
Totally unnecessary as public dungeons have more than one boss in them and so can provide more than an amply supply of bosses to kill before respawning.
Ah well, whatever. At least I got all the achievements and can buy the furnishings to deck out my macabre-style homes.

That being said, It was fun seeing so many people online, i also leveled 4 alts to 50 so i have a toon for every class now. Also got a bunch of stuff to sell between the plunder skulls and drops from the grind. Now i am gonna take a break for a week cause that burnt me out. Ill be back soon though.

Pretty much same as last year, with some new loot.

It is designed to be a Trick or Treat for real world Halloween, and it is pretty much that. As such, it meets expectations and has something for both new and old players.

The only change I would suggest for 2018 is to make ot so that any amount of damage to a boss will drop the Plunder Skull. It is sad to see people get shoved out of the way by the big kids muscling in to get their candy.

No, it is not necessary to redo the loot next year. Incremental additions or selective replacement is fine.

Edit: forgot this due to repressed memory. No more sticks!

1 star for actually using the xp boost to level a few skill lines but other than that, I'd give it a 0. The branches were a pisser and so were the old recipes helping to make it that much less likely to get new masks which was the big draw.

I also didn't like the fact that the CWC release and the witches festival overlapped. I wanted to finish CWC as fast as I could but I had to get on the skull grind if I wanted to get the masks. I only got 1 btw(thicket man) from the skulls and traded the pumpkin specter for the hollowjack after the event was over.

All in all the Witches Festival was meh for me.

i dont know you. i dont hate you. but you seem to hate everyone and everything. all you can think about is 'i didnt get <something> so it was crap'. greedy greedy greedy. its quite sad. myself and others went and enjoyed ourselves while you were hating on everything. I just dont understand why you play. and then your comeback to others enjoying themselves was 'this must be your first wf'. what, you think people are all like you? im being honest when i say if you couldnt find something enjoyable out of this event, then you should reevaluate why you play.

im just sick of seeing all the miserable people here blaming zos because they dont know how to chill out and have fun.

work sux (usually) and often you dont get to pick that (to an extent) but gaming is purely your choice. If you are miserable, its because you choose to be.

    I have 14 chars.
Last year, I did all achievements related to WF on 4 chars, since other ones I had were mere mules.
This year, I managed to do 8 more characters. So, 2 more left for next year. I wanted to get these 2 done during this year's festival, but there simply was not enough time, since I had to work as well. I guess this is your first WF, so you had more fun than me.

no actually, it wasnt my first WF. try again.

Did I kill you in PvP or something? Or was you the one who sent me that hate mail during the festival? Why so hostile? If you enjoyed WF, good for you. I stated why I think WF was terrible, and that is it.

I guess you just wanted to be ignored. It's ok, you did well.
