...No, you don't get weaker. This misconception is why we have CPs crying about being weak. The starter stats are a crutch. You're expected to learn something about the game as you level which is why the crutch is slowly removed as you gain levels. It's not the game's fault if someone's main goal from 1 -50 was powerleveling instead of playing the game then they reach CP and think the game is broken.... ESO is the RPG where your character gets weaker but more specialized as you level up...

The one thing that stood out when I beta tested ESO in 2014 was the comradery among players testing the game. Despite my feeble brain not catching on right away I am pleased to see that nothing has changed. Some of you reminded me of that in this thread. Still, that did not stop you from reiterating the help you had given me previously. That speaks volumes of the kinds of people who play Elder Scrolls online. And, it also reassures me of why I came back.
After respecting my Toon and receiving the armor that @the.witchdoctor so freely made for me the difference in play was like night and day. Before I struggled to try to take Chodala down, in Vvanderfell, I died several times. Today with my new active spells set properly on my two bars and the new armor, I took him down without much of a sweat. Thank you all for that. And, thank you all for the guidance as well. Happy gaming!

I wasn't satisfied with my Breton Magicka SORC despite the fact that she was at CP260 and dressed in 5 pieces of Julianos; 5 pieces of Necropotence and the SlimeClaw Monster Helm/ Shoulder. I wasn't satisfied because she was still too damn squishy and her health and DPS was terrible.
As a result, I created another Toon, a High Elf Magicka SORC this time. Low and behold she had better health, stamina, and DPS. So, while I brought her up through the low levels her health after consuming food was up around 18,000 t0 20,000. And now, having reached CP260 my High Elf Magicka SORC's health has fallen to 17,000 even after coming food. What is the heck up with that ZOS? Why you got 5 / 5 / 2 on a Mag SORC? That's your first problem. Ok, maybe Dual wield is possible with another build but with Necropotence and Julianos? Unless you are an advanced player you need a staff to weave attacks and regain Magica with heavy attacks.
Second Problem - Health on a Mag sorc is pretty low in importance. Max magica is more important. If you have all your points in Magica just use Hardened Ward every six seconds or more frequently if you get hit really hard. In PvE you should never die with Hardened Ward and some kind of heal over time ability. If you are still too squishy use a second magica shield, lol.
Why do I have the 5/5/2, because it was suggested to me and they made it for me? The biggest issue I see is that everyone has differing opinions on the appropriate armor for my Magicka sorc. I am never, ever going to play PvP, so all I need is a very good PvE armor set. I just want to be able to survive the battle with the Lava Queen, for example, and deal some good DPS. Is that really asking for too much? What I also need is for someone to walk me through redistributing my Champion points properly without it costing me a million in gold. That's all I am asking.
Yes, everyone has a different opinion, lol. One difficulty is a lot of advice is for really advanced players.
I guess I should explain what I meant:
Sometimes on one bar people have 5/5/2. You get increased damage from several things with that. The disadvantage though is that if your magica runs low you have to swap bars and use heavy attacks to restore your magica. If you never run out of Magica then it's not an issue but especially with solo boss fights and lower CP you can use up your magica pool.
Since you already invested in those sets keep them - they are good and the basis for good builds - but you will probably have to do weapon swaps if your magica runs low and on your staff bar you'll miss out on the Julianos increased spell damage.
@KRBMMO I don't know if you saw my post on the first page but when I made his armor, it was 5/5/1. He has staves on both bars. What a lot of people do is start on their back bar - click power surge and any other buffs, then swap bars and attack. then they count in their heads how many seconds the surge lasts, swap to back bar, buff up, then swap back to attack bar.

ZOS makes changes, you either adapt or quit. It's that simple.
Stamblade are doing 45k-50k dps solo.... Magsorcs struggle to get 40. With group buffs the disparity is even more....

@Hippi,
I added the SlimeCraw shoulder piece. The armor wasn't broken. I needed to add a heavy Julianos chest piece, which I have. Now I have 1-heavy, 1-medium, and the rest light. I did Banish cells 1 in Vet mod a couple of hours ago and only died twice, from being one-shotted by the final boss. My armor seems to work flawlessly now. We......my random team and I completed the pledge. Incidentally, I did not intend to play in the vet mod it just happened. After all, it is random.
...No, you don't get weaker.
That is a really generous view,
of a really poorly implemented content scaling system
but the reality of the matter is that while leveling from 1-50
stats that are not specialized in progressively get lower
can watch stats drop while leveling up
hence 'weaker but more specialized' because no one is obligated to stack entirely into a single stat, people just end up doing it anyway
there was more of a logical progression to strength back when Veteran ranks and leveled zones existed
while battle-leveled characters in Cyrodiil had decent generalist stats but poor resource management
the system 'works' in ESO
but it is in not really overly intuitive or transparent as to why it functions the way it does
hell, have had people come back to game recently in guilds
and ask whether orange stats and diminishing returns on assigning attribute points
were still a thing

If what you say is true then it is the Julianos. However, like with the Necro, I have the gloves, the belt/sash, the necklace and the two rings. Wih the Julianos I have the heavy chest now; (which I didn't have before); the legs, the shoes, and two "new" Julianos staffs. By my calculations that is 5-pieces of Julianos. Regardless if the staffs don't count in the eyes of many, I think that they do, just like the jewelry.
Incidentally, I am no longer as weak as I was without the heavy chest. Harby and Dallas can atest to that., thank you.

When he added the second piece of Slimecraw, I don't know which set bonus he screwed up because he never answered me. He is not a dual-wielding magsorc. Just wanted to clear that up.
@Hippie4927
LOL
@Hippi,
I added the SlimeCraw shoulder piece.
It's not possible for you to have 5/5/2 as there are only 11 slots. You broke one of the 5 piece sets when you added a second Slimecraw......I just don't know which one. You need to check your armor to see which one now only has 4 pieces. If it's not the Julianos then it is the Necro.
@***_allard Only the equipped weapon counts, not both of them so you gave up, I believe, 263 spell damage.

So you have 4 equipped pieces of Julianos, chest, legs, shoes, and 1 staff on the active bar, and you should see the 5 piece bonus greyed out.

its not a "few crybabies" it is now and has been since launch alot of people on many platforms and constant threads admitting the truth that sorcer class is overpowered both in shields and damage output.

(As it is right now the armor and staffs that I am currently using will be designated for soloing. I am looking to build another set for doing dungeon pledges.)
With 4-pcs of Julianos I am getting 804 Spell critical. With 2-pcs of Necropotence I am getting 816 max Magicka. With 2-pcs of SlimCraw monster set, I gain minor beserk at all times, increasing my damage by 8%. With my active staff slotted I deal 2564 Magicka damage and restore 913 health. With my so-called secondary staff slotted I deal 2053 Magicka damage and restore 795 health.
