Happens to all not just SORCS.
totally freaked me out the first time it happened and I was actually paying attention to my stats...
seriously - i was like what the heck is going on...
some of the most OP players in the game are rocking level 40 something toons...

My stamblade sits around 18-22k health. That's standard for DPS. If you have issues with survivability, maybe you need to look at your skills. Right now, sorcs are probably the most OP class right now, so it's about time they get to feel the "nerf bat". Welcome to what the rest of us have been experiencing over the last 2 years. ZOS makes changes, you either adapt or quit. It's that simple.

I wasn't satisfied with my Breton Magicka SORC despite the fact that she was at CP260 and dressed in 5 pieces of Julianos; 5 pieces of Necropotence and the SlimeClaw Monster Helm/ Shoulder. I wasn't satisfied because she was still too damn squishy and her health and DPS was terrible.
As a result, I created another Toon, a High Elf Magicka SORC this time. Low and behold she had better health, stamina, and DPS. So, while I brought her up through the low levels her health after consuming food was up around 18,000 t0 20,000. And now, having reached CP260 my High Elf Magicka SORC's health has fallen to 17,000 even after coming food. What is the heck up with that ZOS? (I also replaced her crappy armor and staffs with those from my Breton--- the 5 pieces of Julianos; 5 pieces of Necropotence and the SlimeClaw Monster Helm/ Shoulder.)
"Oh, that's right! It's the player's fault. I keep forgetting. Sorry!?!"
Okay, so now let's hear it? Thank you.

i run my sorc at 16k health and have no issues with shields fed by 43k magicka,. You have options, is your undaunted skill line fully levelled?.. is it so important to wear seven divines pieces?... why not five divines and two infused (chest and legs) with tri-glyphs.. if you are squishy and struggling then the small loss of magicka from a large magicka pool for a pretty big gain in health and stamina is worth it, you wont barely notice a change in your dps but your survivability will rocket. Are you running witchmother? that carries way less health than a blue food, do you shield up and ensure surge is on a 100% uptime.. Think survivabilty not pretty stats... the stats will start to come when you go over 300cp

No, my undaunted passives aren't available yet. As for the armor, I am just going by what I have been told and what I have read. It seems that everybody has differing opinions on these sorc builds. Plus, I don't have enough gold to keep rearranging my champion points, let alone make armor and staffs. Plus, I don't have the skills to make my own crap.
As for food, I have at my disposal the following:
1.) Blue Orzora's Red Frothgar (for Health and Magicka recovery.)
2.) Blue Solitude Salmon-Millet Soup (For Health and Magicka)
As for power surge, I have no idea how to keep it up all the time--unless I am just supposed to keep spamming it. Besides, I have had my shield up and have still gotten one-shotted.

the fact that you care enough to post this thread means you'll most likely figure out what it takes to build your character to be successful in whatever content you enjoy...
it's tough, but, try to take joy in the challenge, even if it seems asinine at times - like my advice

Why you got 5 / 5 / 2 on a Mag SORC? That's your first problem. Ok, maybe Dual wield is possible with another build but with Necropotence and Julianos? Unless you are an advanced player you need a staff to weave attacks and regain Magica with heavy attacks.
Second Problem - Health on a Mag sorc is pretty low in importance. Max magica is more important. If you have all your points in Magica just use Hardened Ward every six seconds or more frequently if you get hit really hard. In PvE you should never die with Hardened Ward and some kind of heal over time ability. If you are still too squishy use a second magica shield, lol.

that's way cool!!!
for a short period of time i was in this small "elite" pvp guild (they kicked me for cross factioning, plus - i play solo...just wasn't meant to be)...however, after playing with them a bit - i really started to improve on building characters - primarily because - i didn't want to let them down...
as long as i played with them i was always going to be the weakest member of the group - however, i wanted to be competent...same thing with pledges and learning how to tank or heal (still haven't tried the dps role)...
fear of failure can be a very motivating

lol. The only thing you should be mentioning for PvP is the frags nerf and you didn't even bring it up. That is the bread and butter of the "sorc is dead" argument. They're way worse now !
Much else of your post seems to.... not make sense.
VaranisArano wrote: »***_allard wrote: »That's wonderful.
I know that they are dead. Some of my guildmates who have lost a lot of DPS because of the recent changes are thinking of leaving ESO. And, some of these people have been here since day one. Others perhaps a year or two. I personally have only been here since September of 2017: And, I was a beta tester back in 2013.
Was that what the problem was? Or do you still have points left for the blue constellations that its not letting you place?

Why do I have the 5/5/2, because it was suggested to me and they made it for me? The biggest issue I see is that everyone has differing opinions on the appropriate armor for my Magicka sorc. I am never, ever going to play PvP, so all I need is a very good PvE armor set. I just want to be able to survive the battle with the Lava Queen, for example, and deal some good DPS. Is that really asking for too much? What I also need is for someone to walk me through redistributing my Champion points properly without it costing me a million in gold. That's all I am asking.

Yes, everyone has a different opinion, lol. One difficulty is a lot of advice is for really advanced players.
I guess I should explain what I meant:
Sometimes on one bar people have 5/5/2. You get increased damage from several things with that. The disadvantage though is that if your magica runs low you have to swap bars and use heavy attacks to restore your magica. If you never run out of Magica then it's not an issue but especially with solo boss fights and lower CP you can use up your magica pool.
Since you already invested in those sets keep them - they are good and the basis for good builds - but you will probably have to do weapon swaps if your magica runs low and on your staff bar you'll miss out on the Julianos increased spell damage.
