How would you rate 2017 Witch's Festival Event?

A total bore. All the good stuff is in the crown store anyway.

Yeah not the greatest event, I mean double xp is nice but 100,000 branches, recipes I already knew and not much else to write home about.

I would rate it zero out of 100.
    What I expected:
    • Fun festival
    • Nice rewards
    • Multiple ways to enjoy it
    • Way to level all my alt skills while getting all festival related achievements on 10 of them
    What we got:
    • triple maintenance
    • 3 minute timers (seriously, whoever implemented this might be the one to make me not spend money on ESO anymore)
    • tedious grind
    • hate mail from players that are on different timers
    • branches
    • not enough time to get achievements done on 10 alts that didnt had them
    • surprise 24h 4k exclusive mount

Seriously, wtf Zos. You took THE BEST festival from last year and made it THE WORST atm.
If you continue with a trend of ruining festivals, I will stop spending money on ESO for sure.
I can understand that you might not have resources or knowledge to fix PvP, lag, PvE, balance etc.
But you have zero kudos from me for ruining something that was supposed to be fun festival, and you did that with 3 minute timers and branches.

Awful, not fun at all, at least the rewards are decent though
I was very disappointed with the lack of stuff to do. The quest only takes a few minutes and after that the whole festival is just getting plunder skulls off existing bosses. Some of the drops from the skulls are ok, but personally I'm always more interested in things to do than items.

Last year I put it down to the Witches Festival being their first ever seasonal event and maybe not having much time to devote to it. After the New Life and Jesters festivals had more of a focus on content I was hopeful they'd add to it for this year, but then we just got the same 1 thing again.

The only good thing is it gave me plenty of time to focus on other games Halloween events where there's a lot to do in a relatively limited time.

Yes. I like to get it done on all characters. I will barely finish 8th char. Last year I did 4, so its 12/14 in total.

    Meh. Just meh.

The achievements were the same as last year, so there was basically zero point to me even bothering with the event on my main account. I got those achievements fairly quickly on my second account and started earning CPs on it.
The drops were also basically the same as last year, but with the new furnishings/plans/masks being harder to get with the loot table seriously diluted by useless branches.

On top of that, the Clockwork City came out a few days into the event for those of us on PC. Well, whatever. Not like I was actually doing the Witches Festival anyway. If I had been, I probably would have been more irritated by that.

The only thing I really liked this year was the new witch hut in Glenumbra. I bought that, and then proceeded to do my best to take the Glenumbra out of it. Fun challenge with a result I liked enough that I wound up buying all the crafting stations and making it my primary residence.

I do hope that the other events have more added to them, though. If they're just going to be exact copies of the original events with some equivalent of branches thrown into the loot tables, then there is a very good chance I won't bother with them. I'll get what I'm missing and call it done.

Last year was awesome, this year missed the mark. Time limit is annoying, drop rates are horrific, plus no new achievements... Something like, You Participated in Witch's Festival 2017...

Nice for the first time in 2016 but it's pretty much the same as in 2017.
I wish we could atleast turn those branches into ruby ash.

I would rather prefer the reward sheme of the anni event. Lots of useful stuff which will always needed.

Even one new quest and achievment would have been nice...

and this is just plain rude:

300k festival house + over priced achiev items +

2 week grind trying to get all the new drops, leaving no way to recoupe gold, followed up with --->

Zanil wanting 100k, 50k, 50k, 50k o.O ZoS getting us back for those *free* thrones or what?

Not very nice to your new players, or any players that don't have crazy amounts of time.

These are supposed to be *for fun* things, and ZoS, you've managed to make yet another mess of it...
    trick or treat indeed.

Get your act together; give the people of Tamriel new quests and achievs and quit using holidays as another gold sink.

Depend a bit that you make it to, not very interested in the rewards, the only thing I wanted was the potent brew.
Say its better than the jester one. Far below the midyear mayhem who was fun and the anniversary who was get rich fast.
Entered with less than 100K passed 2M at tend, past 3M after selling off stuff an month later even after used a lot.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

It wasn't as involved as I had hoped it would be. Wasn't around for last year's and thought it would repeatable daily quests like the jesters festival. Instead it's one quest to get the event item and then everyone farming everything to death for plunder skulls. I had better luck than many it seems in regards to acquiring the new masks (doubles of both actually) and the furnishing plans, but aside from those few interesting things it really just felt like a grind for the only achievement I had left to acquire to get the title. Got most of the motif pages from a friend from last year's and acquired the rest myself so all the motif pages this year are useless.

I can't complain too much because at least they did something. I remember the first year or two of the games life they didn't do anything. But if they could maybe try to make next year's something different and memorable that'd be great. I think I enjoyed the crown store offerings more than anything for this month. Probably spent more this month than any other.

Looking at the new life festival achievements list it looks like there is more to do for it than there was for the witches festival. I wasn't around for it either so I look forward to seeing if it's more involved and entertaining than the witches festival.

Oh they'll still do one, not because you're trolling me but because people like you will log in for it and then come to the forums and whine about lag in cyrodiil.

I had to spend the last PVP event doing undaunted dailies. The pve carebears were nearly unbearable. So I queued as a healer with my DPS NB, as if it really mattered. Wayrest sewers was SOOOOOOOO hard....

For me, it's like real life halloween.

Some people love it, some people hate. No matter what though, it's just another opportunity for a massive cash grab and for smart businessmen/women (insert trigger warning here) to fill up their pockets, all ready for Christmas.

Not bad, not fun but getting some good stuff
Pretty much stopped grinding for skulls after the first few days. Got several V2 Masks purchased a thicketman for cheap, got enough motif's to learn Hollowjack on two crafters and levelled a new Stam Warden from 1-50 with the xp bonus, training gear and scrolls. Might have top off another character before this ends. This exented period of bonus xp is the best part of the even IMO.

Because i did it last year and rememebered the grind fest i wasnt all that up to it. Last year i was like "HOLY SWEET ROLLS NEW RECIPE'S! NEW MASKS! A FLIPPIN POLYMORPH THAT MAKES ME A SKELTETON ARGONIAN BESIDES THE DARK BROTHERHOOD POLYMORPH! AWESOME!"

This year it was more of... oh... well hey my main character never finished getting all the skulls.. so ill get those for the title. after 37 skulls i got the remaining 2 new masks. i personally wasnt amazed by the masks. 1 just had some added twigs and the other was darker and glowed more orange (personally i likedthe orange glow but my argonian daemon mask i love so much more thank you zos) i got the recipes for the new furniture in the 37 skulls so i was pretty muxh done... cept i had to get the remaining 63 skulls... after that... well.. hey xb buff... but im already max cp for this update and the next (im on console)

i would have liked... alittle more but... yuh know...

I played another game more than I did ESO during this event...the 18 months prior I played more ESO than all other games combined.

Why = The lack of effort in the event tells me we can expect more of the same "lack of effort" in future events. Supported by the amount of people that were happy how it turned out will ensure future events are lackluster. IMO, of course.

The Quest: Short, really short, I mean I had everything but the essence. Went to a delve, done. Then the grind....oh the grind. One hundred skulls and I have a complete motif and a mask and some recipies, that's it. If I want anything more from the event I have to buy it with hard cash.

Oh we also have extra XP which while nice, isn't something that make the event feel better.

While I have been having fun during the event, it's not so much the event that is causing me to have fun. In fact if I wasn't required to grind bosses I might be having more fun.

edit: oh, I also have a million sticks!
