I bought Vampire from the crown store very shortly after I started playing the game, because I was erroneously told that people still paid for bites so it would really kind of pay for itself by being a source for in-game cash as well as a fun thing to play. The gold thing was laughably off-base. I have seen nothing but people scolding and carrying on if someone offered bites for gold from either WW or Vampire, and I have even seen people jump on people who offered to pay and browbeat them about how all bites should always be free and not to encourage people by paying them. Kind of a rude attitude considering that either we pay real money OR, as some friends of mine did, do a couple of weeks of work stalking the wild progenitors and getting infected the hard way. But it is how things are, and it makes me very sorry that I didn't just mooch a free bite off some bloodsucker in the game since that's expected to be a free lunch now.

You can get bit in-game super easy, just ask other players.

However I think it should be removed from the crown store, it's clearly meant to trick the new folks into paying for things you don't need to pay for.

I’d love to see a Vampire/Werewolf themed DLC. Akin to Dawnguard in Skyrim.

Ye these items out of CS only target new players.

Get a bite in game for free or get the cure for it in game for little hassle.

How to get Werewolf or Vamp easy without having to pay 1500 crowns:

Step 1. Go to Either Deshaan, Grahtwood, Stormhaven, Reapers March or any other popular zone for lots people to congregate.

Step 2. Type in Zone chat: "Paying 5k gold for (ww or vamp bite)"

Step 3. If you get no offers repeat in other zones

Step 4. Success

Quite simple really. You can usually get it free from guildmates and people who are nice if you want, but it'll take a bit longer to get. This is GUARANTEED to get it. (Don't quote me on that)

I give away free bites on a regular basis. When I need one it never takes too long to get one either. No need to buy anything....

it would be great if they use similar "Dawnguard" concept, for both vamps and weres.

otherwise these are too expensive, doesnt seem worth more than 500 crowns each. for 1.5k each? forget it!

It's so easy to get a bite, usually for free, just by asking in the correct zones. I don't see why anyone would ever pay crowns for a bite.

That being said, a few years ago when being vampire was somewhat rare, it was often expensive to find a bite (since its only available once per week), and those that had them tried to keep it exclusive. I doubt this will happen again, with the larger population and the number of vampires and werewolves in game, but the ability to get it in the crown store is a way to prevent this. I'm glad it's an option, but the price is irrelevant because it currently wouldn't make sense for anyone to buy it.

Remove it from crown store but add a DLC with some spooky content

When people found out you could be a vampire or ww in the game, some really, really special snowflakes decided this would be a great source of income. So these special snowflakes and their buddies ran circuits and killed all the spawns so no one would be able to get a bite in the "wild". People would *have to pay* the special snowflakes for a bite, and even then some snowflakes scammed them out of the gold/didn't give them the bite. It would cost 50k or more; and when the game was early release/just released and everyone was just starting out, that was a LOT of gold.

So, how could ZOS handle the issue? Because there were many complaints about it. Reverting every ww or vamp in the game wouldn't be fair to the ones who had gotten bit in the wild despite the snowflakes or that paid the snowflakes. Taking vamp and ww out of the game wouldn't work either. Spawning multiple hundreds of vampire/ww spawns so not all of them could be killed by the snowflakes wouldn't work. So the bites came to the crown store as a last resort for players who might not have in-game alternatives.

Players who dealt with that mess [and I'm one of them, out of 14 characters on my one account 12 are currently ww, and the other two will be shortly] give bites out for free because being able to get bitten was supposed to be freely accessed content in the game. If I see a response to "selling ww bite" in zone I offer to give one for free. The only thing I ask is that the person who gets it will also pass it on free of charge.
