Penetration and DoTs

Quick question, if I cast a dot from the backbar and then switch to a front bar with sharpened trait, do the remaining dot ticks take that increased penetration into account while I'm on the front bar?

✭It differs per type of DoT.
Ground target DoTs will take your current stats into account, whilst single target DoTs (the ones that stick onto a target) take the stats from the bar on which it was casted and the buffs you had at that time.1
