I like how ZOS is so casual about LGBT

Y'wanna know what I love about the elder scrolls? That entire questline with the werewolves up in bangkorai, several people took it as politicall aligory. But I never did. To me, the werewolf bit was so aligorical in and of itself it just took itself as litteral. And I liked that. It was a cool story, and it never once felt out of place, and it never once felt like the writers were preaching to me.

That, is why I love how it's done in the elder scrolls. It is done well. Memoribly. Tastefully. And not once, has that level of quality dipped. It's just been a world I love, expanding in quality, time and again, and again.
    Agreed.
Oh, the parallells are there, just like in the X-men stories about "curing mutation" - but done nicely subtle, without being all too agressive about it. And even then they let the player decide which way to go, though I kinda wish that quest also offered the choice not to interfere with the ritual in the first place...

But the topic of discussion here is how nicely ZOS handles that kind of LGBT topics... and I still think they have one of the best approaches in MMO gaming that I know of (granted, I know not that much)
Like i said... they depict it like noone in tamriel gives two fu... uhh... thoughts about it. The people in tamriel see two women loving each other, and they just do not care, its "normal" to them. They see two dudes married, and just take is as matter of fact that they are together, dealing with them like with anyone else. Noone ever asks a "LG" couple in tamriel who "the man" in their relationship is and who "the woman" - because the people in tamriel seem not to think exclusively in binary terms in that matter. And there are quite a few "B" and "T" figures in tamriel mythology... just how many daedric princes see gender as a matter of mood again? And it can be assumed that with their long lifespan, all the elven races may at some point dabble in "B" at the very least! (which would be a classic clichee for elves anyhow - I mean, just look at them in LotR...)

In any case, when I come across such things in ESO, I often wish people in the real world were as "so what?" about these things...

Also on topic: I totally agree. The quests in the game really are of a higher quality than any other MMO. You've got ones that have political undertones, ones with veiled social commentary, and some quests are just plain fun. I think whats great is that ZOS didn't focus on LGBT - they covered a whole wide range of issues, and managed to keep it within the realm of possibility in an Elder Scrolls Universe. I've been playing CWC lately and the main zone quest is really awesome.

I love the juxtaposition of the more serious quests coupled with the screwy romp-through-the-woods type things, and how most of the characters just feel... like they have real motivations. I think only the Dark Brotherhood questline has made me think "why do I care about you again?" but even then there's good characters, like Green-Venom-Tongue and Elam Drals.

But above all I like how much love and care was put into a lot of the quests, and how characters that would normally be a caricature or single-issue (like non-straight people!) end up being three-dimensional.

And then there's stuff like a naked Nord quest both in Deshaan and in Vvardenfell, as a nice nod to TES3. :D

I literally screamed, THE NAKED NORD! And laughed when i saw that quets =D.

Vivec is both at the same time. As he is all races at the same time. Well, he tries to be anyway.

I'm assuming you meant "agender", but if not... oh honey.

    http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:36_Lessons_of_Vivec,_Sermon_14

Now if you did mean agender, it's best described as "¯\_(ツ)_/¯"

He's really whatever he feels like being at the time, but usually presents as male. But the main aspect of his character is the duality of it, and subversion of being assigned any one role.
