Has anybody ever deconstructed gear that was in the bank, or came close to it accidentally, Wouldn't it be better to make it so we can not decon gear in are banks.

On pc its an addon who let you hide stuff in bank.
No lock is not perfect, lock work for stuff you know you want to save. gear set you want to assemble, special gear like leveling gear or sneak set for TG / DB.
It don't work for stuff you want to research on and can not be locked for one.

its also faster to decon just the new stuff in inventory.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

This is the correct answer. In fact, it is a big reason Zos added the ability to lock gear. Gear can be unlocked in the decon window if someone has gear locked that they are ready to research.

Being able to decon, and research gear in the bank is very beneficial.

Khajiit has many things in the bank intended for research use by her many apprentices.

I like that I can decon/research/improve stuff from bank *shrug*

You can always use the standard lock, or download an addon (on PC) for better lock control: I think it's called Item Saver.
