Why hoods with all the masks?

Hi,

Why all the masks have hoods, a piece of clothing or something coming with it? Can we just have the masks without them?

I mean, there should be a way to hold the mask without using a hood always so we can still see our hair style and so.

Several costumes/gear just don't look good with a hood (heavy armor for example).

It's the lazy design option. Quickest way to churn out some new items for the Crown Store with minimum effort and least hassle about how they work with hairstyles etc.

I bought Jhunal's Owl Mask. It looks great from the front, but from the rear (which is what I see 90% of the time while playing) it looks like I have an ugly sack on my head. Very disappointing and has put me off buying any further masks designed in this way.

Because then they have to account for all the variations a player can make with a character face. And have all the verticies of the mask change accordingly. So much easier to just make a new model of the head that gets replaced so you get a one size fits all.

It also allows for the beast races to wear the human variants without the mask deforming. Since the head is just replaced.

Edit: they'd also have to decide which vertices affect specific verticies of the mask. Even then it'd require a lot of trial and error.

Yeah... I would of like the owl or moon mask, but the hold just says no. Also how a mask just goes over mouth like ones in store not (but no hood) or maybe ones that go over eyes.... >.> avoid vampire eyes.

There's one thing I always thought about every form of headgear in this game. And that is, where oh where have my argonians horns gone? Must be some sheogorath trickery no doubt.

Man I love all those masks, especially the half face ones BUT I'm not going to hide my special hair and look bald. Zos, I know you can make half face masks that show hair, all you need to do is retexture this: https://eso.mmo-fashion.com/belly-dancer-veil/

The belly dancer veil is right there. All they need to do it make new textures, specular, remove alpha and boom.

I would like a hoodless version of the skull mask that's currently in the crown crates so that it shows off your hair. I want to make a Tokyo Ghoul inspired character gosh darn it.
