Instead of Spellcrafting, ZOS should add new Class Abilities

Spellcrafting got scrapped as we know it right? ZOS probably had their reasons for doing so. Balancing issues or what not.

(Unsure as to whether this has been mentioned before, so I apologise if it has)

SO instead, perhaps ZOS should introduce new class abilities, as we have all been using the same abilities since day one, it would create more diversity (which ZOS are obsessed with atm) and it would keep the gameplay fresh. That way, they can be balanced accordingly as everything new is always unbalanced.

What do you think?

    More world or guild skill lines would be good. (Come on necromancy!)

    I think this would be better than major changes to class skill lines.

    Try getting leap to work in Cyro (not the point I know) But most of us want to laydown the destroscrub ult and still use an execute...

    We used to have one ZOS. Make DK's great again!

    What I think of the matter should be pretty obvious for any who read the thing I keep mentioning... my class morph idea: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/369966/class-morph-idea-mk-ii

    With that idea, we would be able to "morph" our basic five classes into fifteen advanced versions (three different choices per class), giving os a nifty step up in character divesity... as well as a fourth class skill line for -everyone- to enjoy, no matter if a newly made toon, or one played since launch...

    Still hope for Spellcrafting. They didn't mention, that they wont do it. Hope they will understand, that they need new and interesting systems in addition to new zones to keep this game interesting. I am not sure if, they will be that clever, but: there is always hope!

    What ESO class system should have been is... No pre-defined classes at all. Just Make 1 character, choose a race, game world loads and then boom... You have all those class skill lines which you can level up and use. You might say there's too many skills...But we barely have 6 skill slots (12 with the swap) so this would have been really good for making up cool and "unique" builds. Just saying...

    How about no for both spell crafting and new abilites?
    People will only make the same maximum bis spells with spell crafting and they can't even balance the current 5 classes since they do pve and pvp at the same time.

    I don't foresee spellcrafting ever being implemented to the game successfully because of giant balance issues, I do however like and prefer a different approach to more char customizing and build diversity. Prestige classes. or Specializations.

    Lets take a templar as an example.

    You can choose between becoming a Cleric or a Monk(just example names), each with their own interpretation of the already existing skills and morphs of the base class. You also get new or adjusted passives with your new prestige.

    Just an idea at the top of my head while waiting at work.

    I had the idea for a while that each mroph should have 2 more morphs.

    For example

    Ability x morphs to ---> a b

    a ----> a(a) & a(b)
    b ---> b(a) & b(b)

    a(a) - a(aa) & a(ab)
    a(b)--->a(ba) & a(bb)

    so forth and so on

    you just know that guild skills will literally consist of boring passives, like when they released Dark Brotherhood, I thought they would include some awesome stealth abilities and instead I got a passive that decreases the radius of hostile monsters while I ride my mount...

    This game was never balanced - look at all this balance sections in patch notes. So, I am all for the spellcrafting. That would be something which will be new and interesting. ESO lead position for now is just due to the great graphics, but it is already getting old and there are games with better physics. If they will change game engine to lift up the physics and graphics, they can add spellcrafting too. As far as I remember, issue was not so much in the balance, as in the engine which was not scalable for all possible combinations of new spells.
