Can't wait to get home and start farming! Should be 5 per pledge so need to do 10 pledges a day from now on. Probably a bit of PvP as well....

As we all know, ZOS likes making drastic last-minute changes between the final PTS version and the live one. So anything that's been said and done so far on the PTS could be off, and nothing is final until the live patch notes are out.

We've got like 7 joke answers and no real answers. Also, wondering how many will drop per undaunted daily and also wondering how many will drop in Rewards of the Worthy (but only the first one of the day) and also how many will drop for first random group dungeon of the day.

I think this is where the random geode comes in, that gives you between 3 and 25 iirc. Part of that is my own guess though. I do remember that trial quest of the week gives you 5 (but I don't know if it is 5 for normal and 5 for vet) and vmsa gives you 4 and vdsa gives you 5. 7 day leaderboard gives you 10 and 30 day leaderboard gives you 50. Vet trial leaderboards and vet maelstrom leaders give you 5 as well.

I also believe that they go into your bank immediately as a currency. If you are ESO plus, you can only hold 200 at a time, and if you are not, you can only hold 100.

One interesting thing is that you can keep the geodes in fact you can not open geodes if you don't have space for the crystals.
I guess you can not bank them still holding 20-30 geodes is no hardship.

This is relevant if farming an set, say I want SPC 4 armor and weapons, I have various junk trait and infused legs, I also have an infused lighting staff but no restoration. I would not want to transmute robe as I can get infused or divine drop while farming staff. Finaly an resto staff drop and its powered. i now transmute robe to infused
You then do an random dungeon get WGT and and infused robe as drop

I went through all PTS patch notes and what I deciphered was that RFTW mails will contain a geode than can have anywhere between 4-25 crystals. The rest I know they drop but couldn't decipher how many.

Veteran Dragonstar Arena (5 crystals)
First rewards for the worthy mail of the day (Large Uncracked Transmutation Geode, 4-25 crystals)

FYI, the range of the Geode is wrong.

I just got a geode that had just 1 transmutation crystal in it.

I'm the master at defying the RNG odds in the worst possible way.

They're supposed to drop on normal too, not just vet. They changed this in the second pts week and forward.

i have not yet seen any info on crystals and rates after the patch from official sources, so while we can make assumptions from the PTS, the lack of final data is unusual. i would have thought the final details of the new sub-system would have been a primary element of the patch notes.

@shadelon Drop on normal what? One week of the notes was a bit fuzzy so I wasn't sure exactly.

Normal pledges, random, weekly trial, those are guaranteed. Smaller chance on dungeon final bosses than on vet. This is from the faq article too.
