Warden - Nature Gift’s passive question

Natures Gift grants you 250 Magicka or 250 Stamina based on whichever resource pool is lower, and has a cooldown of 1 second. This effect is supposed to activate when “healing an ally”.

Will this passive activate from the Minor Lifesteal effect provided by Leeching Vines (morph of Living Vines)? If so, it could effectively grant a maximum 20 seconds of activation to this passive per cast.

Minor lifesteal is not a natures gift heal, it is a debuff, so no, it won't do what you are asking, your best bet is to use the lotus flower, morph of your choice, to get this return.

@Lightspeedflashb14_ESO Have you tested it? You know how strange and inconsistent ESO can be with stuff like this.

Also (from what I’ve heard) Lotus Flower only has a chance to restore health to allies on heavy attacks, which is sort of hinted at in the description :/ not worth it at all in that case.

Think I´ve read somewhere Wrobel saying that medium weaves with Lotus Flower will be able to restore HP after todays patch. Can´t remember where I´ve read it tho....

I use leaching vines on my tank, haven't really checked after but it makes sense. I try to keep the main heal up. How would you suggest to test it.

I know for a fact that you can heal your allies with the light attack heal from green lotus, I use it all the time on my stamden, works great. And the heal from green lotus can crit so even light attacks can heal for over 3k. Once did 15% of the teams healing with light attack weaving, such as I can do. The heal is a smart heal, so it goes to whoever is lowest near you. Not sure what you mean by "chance" either I suppose, every light attack with lotus up, you/ally get a heal, every heavy attack you/ally get a bigger heal, no chance involved.

Good to know :open_mouth: From how I read the skill description, light attacks restore health to you only, and heavy attacks restore health to either you or an ally.

If you’re okay with it, you could test Leeching Vines by spending all of your Magicka, then casting Leeching Vines onto a friend who is being attacked by an enemy. Have that friend remain attacked until 10sec passes/Leeching Vines expires. At this point, Minor Lifesteal should be applied to the enemy for around 10sec longer. Have your friend cast Equilibrium to lose health, then attack the enemy to grant them a Minor Lifesteal healing tick. If you gain 250 Magicka from that, then the passive is activating. You likely have add-ons that’ll make it easy to test. It’d be extremely annoying for me to test on console.

The wording for Green Lotus is odd...methinks it should be “light and heavy attacks restore health to either you or an ally.”

From what I’ve seen, heavy attacks restore more health than light...crits excluded.

Edit: from uesp.net: Embrace the lotus blessing, causing Light Attacks to restore 1320 Health and your fully charged Heavy Attacks to restore 3960 Health to you or a nearby ally for 20 seconds. Caster gains Major Savagery, increasing Weapon Critical by 2191 for 20 seconds.

After playing on my stamden some more, I am 100% sure that light attacks with green lotus DO heal your allies as well, including Allie pets, like the matriarch and your own bear.

@Qbiken , correct. HA's still restore more health, but anything not a HA (medium or light) restores the amount equivalent to the LA tooltip.

I always wanted a permablocking tank other than DK. I got absolutely surprised when I realised that Natures gift does not work when healing myself. How am I supposed to generate stamina while blocking? Bull Netch just isn't enough.

To proc Natures gift I have to turn on my allies, wait until they have lower health percentage than me and then immediately cast Leeching Vines. I find this very, very inconvenient and I am angry when I get the vines because I will not gain anything from the Natures gift passive. Is it really intended to not proc when healing myself? Which "intelligent" person designed this?

The worst thing is that stamina warden dps will proc Natures gift often thanks to Green Lotus. Tanks can only proc it by leeching vines casted on others. Budding seeds and Fungal growth can't be used to effectively proc Natures gift, Lotus Flower and Natures Grasp can't be used by a tank. By what means warden dps is privilegued to proc the passive effectively while tank isn't?
