Do We Deserve Another Day of the Event?

Goodness, the wording for the poll questions is very biased indeed! Too much so to vote in my opinion.

Losing a whole day to maintenance? Is your day only 3-4 hours long? That is a good estimate for a maintenance/patch downtime. Isn't the maintenance in question a normal Monday patch/maintenance session? I'm sure that was counted in when the original dates for the Festival were determined.

If the servers were to go all wonky for a couple full days (as they sometimes have) then there might be some logic to extending the event.

My only concern on timing the event is introducing a new DLC before an annual event is even over. If anything should have been changed, it would perhaps be a two week delay before introducing the pending DLC.

    My two Septims, anyway. :)

No, I'm okay with losing entire days of annual events because I feel that is fair to me
I don't think its a big deal. Not like we were unaware there would be maintenance. Also, we are all going to miss time for our own reasons, work, sleep, other life activities. Be rational. Besides, you really need more branches than you are otherwise going to be able to get?

A simple yes and no would suffice instead of a biased poll.

Also, do we really lose an ENTIRE day due to maintenance? Is maintenance going to last 24 hours?

    Emphasis mine.

I'm not voting either way on this one, but due to timezone differences and the fact that I work as a teacher and have a wife and 7-month old son... yes, my "play day" is only 3-4 hours long.

4:00AM EDT falls at 5:00PM my time... 3-4 hours means 5-8/9. You know what that is? That's my only time to play before I have to prep lessons/take the night-shift on looking after my son.

This is a loss of a day. Every time they do a maintenance, I lose a day. Gone.

Do I think that requires recompense? I doubt it. Not that it matters, I doubt ZOS would give it even if this poll turned out 100% in favour.

Yes, we deserve an additional day of the Witches Festival because 1 day is being taken away from us

The fact we lose this day does mean that we deserve something for it, whether or not this fact is acknowledged by people.

The people that are so against our side of the argument are just not personally affected by it, so it is very easy for them to not care and also to simultaneously hold disdain for our point of view.

Last year toward the end most people were thinking the event couldn't end fast enough. My guess is most people will be done with the event long before it actually ends. I'm playing just like I always do during this event. Not going out of my way to try for plunder skulls and already have just about everything the event offers.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

Peoples schedule and time zone in relation to maintenance does not warrant an extra day because it effects you.

:D dear lord! Why can't people just play games. Take part in special events. And be happy with it. There's always something to moan about or something to warrant extra time just because your real life doesn't allow you to keep up with others.

There's more than just skulls to the event, maybe you have heard of a little something called double XP which the event also gives, I'll trust you're aware of that.

Many of us are much more concerned with that.

One day? It’s a few hours at best.

It's "a few hours" if you're in the EU timezone. In AU/NZ maintenance happens right at prime playing time. For me that's 7pm, and I'm very unlikely to be able to login afterwards because it's then bedtime. Coupled with the fact I have to work all day, every day, yeah, that's an event day I'm going to be missing.

Be that as it may, I don’t see the point in extending an event with such a small amount of legitimate content. That’s still only a few hours that you’d be missing because you’d have to sleep and go to work during these times regardless of maintenance.

I'm one of those few that really do not worry about XP. I figure I will eventually get there just doing what I do anyway. For a lot of people in my guild this years event is little more than an annoyance as we have to tolerate the mobs standing around all the bosses.
I did think of one positive that I posted in another thread. I am now able to pickpocket without having other players swoop in and kill the NPC before I get a chance to pick the first pocket. So I guess that is nice. I'm just being a grouch because I am underwhelmed by this whole event.

the event is 11 days having to spend 4 hours or so on maintenance isn't going to kill the event

Yes however for myself, and a lot of other players in Australia, maintenance lands bang on prime time evening.
It starts as I finish work and doesn't finish until late. So in my situation it is an entire day lost.

That said, maintenance has been this way for ages so it can be planned around.
I'd be happy with another day but it's not a big deal.

Lol. What’s so important that you really need another day? What we deserve, if we pay for the game, is a functioning game without insane lag, crashes and bugs that haven’t been fixed for years. Another day of a festival? No we don’t deserve that because it’s just the way it is.

How long is enough? Why don't you quantify this for us?

Most people finish the event in a day or less, and the double xp is meh, can even be obtained easily with in-game items.

I've told you I don't care about the skulls. It's more so about the double xp. People deserve the maximum number of days possible for double XP. That is what we are fighting for with this.
