It would be intreresting to see the results of choices we made near the end of the main quests.
After their part in the main story, I find it hard to believe they would just disappear.
We run into faction npc again. That would be nice. I wanna see the surviving members of that group show up somewhere else for some more quest lines. Maybe get some decent end of quest rewards this time
The 5 Companions are done. Abnur fled to Cyrodiil, Lyris and Sai have left and Varen is no more. Its now squarely the Vestige's story. Which happens to be this coming Daedric war Varen alluded us to, where Azura has basically recruited us onto her side. Morrowind, and now Clockwork City is a part of it.

You murdered Varen?!?

My guess: Not until they release a new base game. Orsinium and Vvardenfell are not additions to the main story, just relatives to the main story.

Interesting how you worded that. Relatives of the main story. Considering how ZOS decided to handle dlc's and "expansions" where there is no requirement as to what content you need to have completed before beginning them, they really can't do something like this unless they break the formula they've been using all this time. It's confusing enough for new players who joined up with Morrowind since you're thrown into a new tutorial that has nothing to do with the base games main story. Unless they decide to do something more ambitious and actually have content completion requirements for future dlc and expansions.
But oh imagine the uproar there'll be about that.... Damned of they do, damned if they don't. That was sort of what turned me off FFXIV. All that tedious story and dungeon grinding before you could do their expansion stuff. It wouldn't bother me as much if ESO did something like that as I've been here since the beginning but I can see how having so much content to slog through to be caught up with OG players would be a turn off.

Main quest is pretty closed you killed Molarg and got your soul back.
One issue is also who you sacrificed at the end, if you sacrificed Lyris you can not run into her later.

Just to clarify, you never kill Molag Bal, you defeated him and left him with injuries that will take a long time to recover from, but he was never 'killed'. Listen to Meridia, she explains it all in her realm after you defeat Molag Bal.

Even though by technicality, Molag Bal should be dead. You 'killed' him in his realm. To my working knowledge, destroying daedra in their plane finishes them for good.

Perhaps just the lesser Deadra?
