What is the point of having the Mythical Aetherial recipe if it costs more to make

than it does to just buy? People charge more for just the Aetherial dust than they do the potion itself. Why is this recipe so heavily sought after?

Remember if you have points into the passives, 1 dust makes 4 potions.

If the dust has a higher cost than the potions it makes (and assuming the dust is selling at that price) that just means the potions are underpriced or people are selling their potions at a loss compared to just selling the dust.

Many people believe that if they farmed the dust than they can sell the potions at any price and to them it's a profit. They don't consider that they could just sell the dust for more and make an even greater profit.

I always wondered how long it takes to make back the cost of the cipher by actually selling the potions. I would think it takes forever (the cipher sells for 2 million+ on PC/NA).

PC EU. Got mine at 2.2m and took 2 weeks making slightly over 200 ambrosias to break even.

Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game.

It is a mystery, and I am sure ZOS is right on top of it. You are supposed to get the XP scroll that comes in Crown Crates, not be piddling around trying to farm the materials to make a potion, or buying that dodgy potion from some back alley vendor.

The best part about this recipe are all the scammers in zone-chat that WTB Cypher/Dust at a huge undercutting price. The funny thing is that it´s the same people all the time, and also the people who had a big role in the latest "Dust exploit" a few months ago.......

    Ding Ding Ding.

The in game version is there just so we can't say the store is pay to win. No one said the drops or price has to be good, just that it has to be achievable in game.

Normally there is a little profit margin between selling 4 potions and the cost of ingredients. Right now... Or when I ran through guilds the other day looking for some... A lot of people are charging a metric *** ton for the dust because of the event. If the potion sales haven't risen yet to match, they will or no one will make them till the dust price goes back to normal.

Personally this just caused me to make the Atherial Ambrosia instead of the Mythical. I mean the difference is x3 vs x3.5. It's not enough for me to overpay, especially not for alts on a second account.

    This.

No one in their right mind would make the potion if they were 1:1 on the dust. To make it worth it, the crafter should have the points allocated to have 4 potions per dust.
