Did mages guild quests disappoint anyone else?

Spoilers ahead.

So I was enjoying the quests really starting to get into it, I figured after we took the Island back from Sheogorath then the real adventures would begin. I honestly thought that was the start of the quest line earning back the Island and then getting to work on some real Mage stuff but that is it? It's over? 6 quests long? Only made interesting by one goofy Sheogorath? Hmm I hope they add more to this but since this game is getting older and older and Mage's guild you think would be one of the biggest brightest storylines and they still haven't added more to it maybe I think not?

What did you guys think? and am I missing something? is that really it? or is there more of the quest line elsewhere?

LOL...the complaints of the lackluster MG questline have been a topic since the game launched ; at this point, there's nothing you could "spoil".

BTW, in case you were wondering....there's no useful reason to save Volaste. Take the 2 skill points, and broom her.

Such a sad spot in the game where you actually get punished permanently on a certain quest choice that can easily result in your character having 1 less skillpoint then the maximum possibly attained. Not a surprise with ZOS though.

The stupid thing about final mage guild quest is, you only get the book and read it to get 2 skill points.
However, Shalidor himself had read the book! And the dude literally has the ability to pull out everything he read in the past! He even taught you that afterwards! Why he can't just tell you the content of the books???

It's actually interesting though the way they approached that quest, me and a friend were talking about this the other day not this specific quest I hadn't done it yet but we were talking about quests that give you the option between good or bad usually deciding to take the evil route results in some sort of penalty down the road whether it be less skill points or less guild or a shitter item for completion but with that quest you take the obvious bad choice and you are rewarded for it. Although it does state if you take that choice you will be rewarded with knowledge you would think that you would atleast get something extra from Shalidor for saving her at the end. So it balances out, I am a noble mage and I didn't even know I was going to get the extra skill point I done what I thought my character would of done. She needs power! endless POWERRRR. So I took that route not knowing. Glad I did now. xD

Yeah see that could of been added to the side of saving Valeste, Shalidor gives you the knowledge contained in that book. I never really thought about it like that.

It's a morality choice. You'd be dooming the girl for a couple skill points. If that's a very easy choice for you, that says something about your character.

I remember spending a while choosing whether or not to broom her. No matter what my character would have done, I didn't take the skillpoints.... Never regretted to be honest. That was like 2 years ago

I grew to like Velaste and saving her was the only choice for me. I just wish she didn't disappear after! For those who save her, why not at least make her the quest giver for MG dailies? That way, at least you get to see and talk to her.

I saved Valaste every time I did the quest line. I am a bit disappointed that Zos didn’t do more with her after the completion of the skill line. I liked her character.
