3 minute timer on plunder skulls

Why is this even a thing? It makes life of ppl who have multiple alts miserable. I think this should be changed to either less than 3 minutes or removed completely.

    3 minutes is just fine, just play the game
    It kept me doing something in the game the whole day yesterday and the rng for the hollowjack chapters isn’t ridiculously bad. I think it’s fine as is. Stop doing Dolmens or farming if that’s what you’re doing. I was about ready to bash my head over a wall doing that crap after 50 skulls (which was approximately 100-150 dolmens). Use it as incentive to gather skyshards from delves or complete other activities. Personally, I don’t bother doing achievements for multiple alts. It’s going to get tedious no matter what.

    A guy and myself in a group last night timed the drops for a couple hours, they ended up being just passed five minutes each time, NOT three ;) .

    EDIT: CRAP, should have picked this option: "just remove timers completely and let us get plunder skull for each boss kill"

    Farmed it last year. 10 maxed chars and CP 900++, so no need for exp either.

    Whoever wants the skulls faster, just needs to farm nDSA or nMSA. No cooldown there.

    Delves, dolmens, public dungeons, and world bosses are 5 minutes. Regular 4 man dungeons and trials (and ostensibly MA and DSA) are 3 minutes.

    Pledge boss, miniboss, final boss, it doesn't matter. 3 minutes = skull. Less than 3 minutes = no skull.

    Go use an instance instead. nVMSa, or any normal dungeon will present a nice private boss every 3 minutes with no competition or other players to mess you up.

    Stop zerging like sheep and go to Maelstorm. It's like 30-50k XP per round, and a skull per boss. 9 in 30mins and productive on a few levels.

    even in a lower dps group, normal dungeons often result in boss being pulled long before the timer runs out. better dps and you either miss out, or end up waiting. I ran couple of pledges with guildies yesterday and we literally had to stand in front of half the bosses and wait for timer to run out. do it in vet! you say. sure.. except... it takes substantially longer on vet, is not as relaxing and I wouldn't have been able to bring in my lvl 48 alt.

    maelstrom arena is all nice and good, but people assume that everyone or most everyone can just do a round in 5 minutes. reality is... most cannot. yes, even on normal. so it ends up taking longer than even waiting for a delve boss to respawn.

    at a minimum, I honestly think that timer should be removed from instanced content and skulls should be put inside the dolmen chest loot table rather then drop off the boss, since for a lot of people dolmen boss loot = no loot

    in my experience a lot if not all the normal dungeons present bosses more often then every 3 minutes, EVEN when you are on a quest.

    Best would be removing the cooldown, but if there has to be one, make it 1-2 minutes, at least in instanced dungeons. Three minutes is too long. When doing a non-DLC vet pledge, you get from boss to boss faster than three minutes, thus "wasting" every other one.

    I could be wrong, but I believe the timer was put on to discourage camping at bosses. Because a player has to inflict a certain amount of damage to get a skull (think about people who don't get drops with the huge dolmen groups), if you have a group camping at a boss, then they could prevent others from playing the game. Three minutes is just not that long. (Not that it stops camping at all.)

    I played about four hours yesterday and I think I got around 30 plunder skulls just by - get this - playing the game. I mean, they drop almost everywhere. I was riding to another zone, saw a dolmen drop, ran over, got a plunder skull. Just another day in Tamriel.

    Last night, a friend and I ran a group dungeon. We got 11 skulls just doing that for an hour. I have two of the masks. And it's just the first day.

    IMO, there's no problem with the time.

    The timer needs to be in place or else you could just go to Forgotten Crypts and get a skull every minute or less. There needs to be a cap on how many you can get per minute for balance reasons.

    why is this an issue exactly? and just to clarify, more then half the game is these places. most of the normal dungeons are like that, unless you are soloing them and maybe even then. just about every public dungeon is like that and you don't have to have an accomplice for that either. sitting there, waiting to pull the boss, becasue timer hasn't run out yet is NOT fun.

    This feels like a sort of no win situation for ZOS.

    Honestly why are op and others having problems with cool down timers? Don't all bosses have cool down timers and isn't the plunder cool down exactly the same as standard boss drop cool down? I know that there have been times when I was farming an armor set and the bosses didn't drop anything because they respawned too fast.
    As a casual player I was satisfied that at one point I had a char max level and near max crafting with almost all motifs and I pretty much lost interest. Then ESO discovered DLC's and now my main is just a wanabe and I am happily pulled back into the game.

    It's really not so bad; like hanging out at dolmens. Play with your collections, play with emotes, RP to the group (someone did that yesterday as folks were hanging out in a delve).

    Or surf the internet while waiting.

    If you are leveling an alt, now is the time to hit up all the dungeons in all the zones, especially the ones with Skyshards in them. And it won't hurt to jump into any dolmens you come across in your travels.

    I'm doing the daily guild quests and finishing all the bosses in the public dungeons I happen to be in... i just camp out at one dolmen for the fighters guild quest... I have 14 toons so once I'm done with all of them I had over 200 plunder skulls yesterday...

    I'm trying to figure this out. Presumably, the only reason to get all the witches festival achieves is to be able to buy the house. Said house ownership carries over between toons; even the runebox costumes carry over between toons; so what's the point of finishing all the witches achieves on multiple alts?
