Why is there a downtime before you can delete characters in the PS4 and Xbox versions?
Just because of the bot issues, they implement a feature that punishes the entire community.
Instead of focusing on the various "GoldVK" bots that are running rampant around the North American server, they instead focus on the computer version's issues and damn the entirety of the perfectionists such as myself to an eternity of waiting for new deletions to make a character that is absolutely perfect with an equally perfect build.
Sorry for sounding "entitled" or "bitchy" about such a small issue.

✭✭✭I thought it was to prevent deletion from happening on accident - Say you drop a controller, one button hits table to delete, other button hits floor to confirm. Now its gone!

We have to hold down too many buttons at once....pretty much the same idea.
To the OP, yes there is a cool down once you delete three characters which can range from days but I forget how many hours/days but it was added to prevent people from creating and deleting, creating and deleting.....I’m sure it had something to do with player behaviors but you could assume bots may have been involved too however this came loooong ago-PC (PTS)/Xbox One: NewBlacksmurf

I know, it sounds simple, until you have 8 copies of the same character, each with one tiiiiny imperfection that you just can't look over, and you create one each day, making the same mistakes.0 -

I went through similar problems when first making characters. Someone's eyes weren't right, or I picked the wrong voice, or I thought of a better character name. I remember spending time theory crafting builds while waiting for the cool down on character deletes.0
