Reguardless of my role, I consider myself a support build. I try to assist my group any way possible.

I play all 3. I was also going to point out, OP, that you better get ready to wait several literal hours for a single Q pop as a dps, with the risk of getting grouped with some WoW elitist basement dweller types who might boot you out of the group over almost nothing. lol Meaning, of course, you just wasted an hour or more in queue and now have to wait again.

Other: all. One role will get boring after a while, doesn't matter what role you prefer.

Exactly. Even my DPS's play differently, some are DoT, some are Instant, some are Ranged, some are up in your face style. Of course the first couple of fights are always interesting as I remember how to play each one.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I don't think anyone only plays one role on all characters. For this reason, I sentence this poll to 10 years in Uncle Sheo's playpen.

I use to be a pet tank build on my Sorc, did that for a year, had lots of fun yet all the toggles took up a lot of space so felt repetitive/bland...

I'm DPS with my pets now, love it... The Tormentor could use a buff so it's not literally 50% of the time useless but it will do for now, the rest of my set-up I'm content with. :)

In most games I have tons of alts. But in ESO for some reason I have no interest in playing alts; I just don't like any of the classes so I found the one I dislike the least (dk) and play that.
No reason for alts though, any stam char can be a tank and any magika char can be a healer. My stamdk carries heavy armor + s/b and can tank just fine if it is needed.
Ermh, so you don't have any alts and only ever played one class but you are certain that there's no reason what-so-ever to make an alt for anyone else playing this game, like, ever?

Practice your reading comprehension. It will help prevent you from being confused all the time (there's a lot of words on forums). Any one character can do all three roles so you don't necessarily have to make alts to prevent from being "frustrated," as the person I was responding to was saying.

    Healer
I only play the same tiny magical wood elf since 2007 (Oblivion, Skyrim, ESO). She won't touch heavy armor or melee weaponry. Beyond that she is pretty flexible though. She can actually, with a flick of my fingers over the keyboard, manifest as a bow/bow stamsorc, dual pet magsorc or, most often in her primary and most natural form as a healplar. Her looks, mount, pet are identical and her name is only slightly different in each form ('Buffy' is always the main part of her name). She views changing among the three forms as no bigger deal than changing her hairstyle - which she does quite often.

Now more strictly on topic, as a healplar she is a fine group healer - good enough to comfortably offer her services in that role. As a bow/bow stamsorc, she is not comfortable enough with her dps to group. As a magsorc she is quite powerful but somewhat specialized as a solo WB killer - she packs her own healer (matriarch) and tank (clannfear) and her team & tactics are not designed to support a group.

OP, keep your dps sets for boss fights that need no tank.

Mainly a DPS cuz I like killing stuff. And now, there's always a need for a ranged dps.
I have tanked and healed before tho. Doing those roles made me appreciate them even more, and how being a dumb dps is a serious strain on both tanks and healers.

I only play DPS. The queue's actually been not too bad lately for random dungeons. If I queue for a specific one I usually get tired of waiting to get to the head of the line so I don't really do that anymore. Sometimes I'll leave & re-enter the random queue if it seems to have gone on too long and will get one not too long after doing that. I'll fish or farm mats while I wait, or do writs or maps. There's plenty to do while I wait. the responsibility for being a good tank or healer is too much for me to want to take it on in my relaxation activity. I'd rather just kill things.

    Tank
My main is a tank, but I’ve got characters for all roles. 4 man get dungeons are my thing, done them all. I wouldn’t mind doing vet trials but I’m Australian on PS4. Lag and Disconnects for days. It’s unplayable for me. It’s alright though, I prefer the 4 man setup.

Ok,. I started this game as a stamblade because I was that mlg guy that wanted some sick plays and stuff but I quickly realized that dps aren't as skillbased as I thought. I then decided to change, I thought about going healer but I decided to go tank

I'm still rocking my nightblade tank and will continue to do so to the end of time

I forgot about that play of the game playstyle and now I just pug up with randoms to tell them that they aren't doing enough dmg
