I am only cp 454 now I was planning on grinding, however I'm not sure if I should grind cp levels to get to 660 or if I should start a new warden(just finished my mag dk yesterday)

You can easily get the warden to level 50 and beyond during the festival, meaning, you'll end up with another usable character.

Plus, once you get him/her to 50, you can grind CP with your Warden. Win win right there.

Remember once you have one CP660 character EVERY character that reaches 50 is automatically CP660......

Use that double xp to grind CP!!

Levelling 1-50 is easy by comparison, don't need double xp for that!! :)

You could use all of your enlightenment + xp boosts right at the start of the event to grind CP, and then level up the warden during the event. Whenever you finish, you'll have some more enlightenment to use.

That's true I'm feeling both ways though because I want the 660cp but I haven't made a warden I have 4 fully maxed characters and the warden is the only class I haven't tried however I am also wondering if I should just keep playing mag dk so I can enjoy him instead of abandoning him

Do you believe I have time to get to 690 and fully lvl a warden in the span of the event?

You likely won't hit cap during the event unless you have most of the days to grind. Most efficient use of time, use up your daily enlightenment, than swap to the new character, followed by just CP once they hit 50.

Also note, once you hit cap, you'll start to outpace the cap raise from normal play.

I have no idea, I'm only 538 CP. I've never been able to commit to grinding CP yet, it just feels daunting :P

    I'd level a new character.

However on you cp character make sure to use up your enlightenment and run the random daily dungeon for more bonus xp.

double xp is best time to create and level up new characters.
last double xp- i had 2 levelled up toons- cp 330 or so , by the end i d levelled 4 more toons , with undaunted, all weapons, skills, combat ready and ready to go- which is what i like- to have one of each class ready to go in endgame content, cos i like playing them all. atm I'm 8/10 with only my wardens to finish off- but i havent gotten into playing them as much but ill use this as a chance to learn the class and level it .

Unless you’re doing a lot of PVP, I don’t see what the rush is for. Especially since you’re already at CP 454. Personally, I’d go with leveling the new character.

I love to pvp it's my fav part of the game but it's hard to not get insta shot when you are missing so many cp so I feel I need to get to 660 to spend the cp

Well, I'll be the odd woman out and say events are really all about just having fun, getting new items that can only be looted during the event (plunder skulls for example), and finally having NO issues getting through THAT one dungeon, because everyone is going to be babysitting the ever-lovin' heck outta every boss in the game. lol

That being said however, I do have some advice (for those who may be new):

    * Be sure to stock up on your Psijic Ambrosia (exp potions), and drag out those Gold Coast and Crown exp scrolls you've (hopefully) been hoarding in your bank, because event exp and exp from in-game items STACK. You could wind up with up to 150% experience bonus if you play your cards right (and my math is correct - which it admittedly may not be, because I'm bad at math lol).

    * Be sure to pick up a Plunder Skull Timer mod to keep track of the time between Plunder Skull drops (you only get a drop every 3 minutes).

    * Remember that in order to get the title "Sun's Dusk Reaper" for EACH toon, you must complete all achievements with EACH toon. This includes the 100 Plunder Skull achievement, "Plunder Skull Fanatic".

    * ALSO! You DO NOT have to wait until the event to learn the Hollowjack style motifs for the achievement! Learning them at any time during the year places them into the achievement list, which you can find under the achievements tab of your journal under 'Holiday Events'. Doing some research into the motifs with the rarest drops, and grabbing those ahead of event price gouging may be an option for veteran players with cash to blow.

Hope this helps someone! Most importantly of all - HAVE FUN!

For me, leveling a new character and running the same quests for 101st time is pretty boring (but still not as dull as grinding)
So an exp boost is more than welcome.

Gaining CP on the other hand, is just a side effect of playing the game, they come anyway.
But a lowbie toon won't level itself

And I have just read that you are into pvp mainly.
    Ever considered doing non-Cp pvp?
Its more about clever usage of sets /buffs and not just pushing a few stats (like block and tankiness and dps) to maximum by using CP

I find it much more fun levelling a new character than grinding CP... Plenty of experience to be gained from easy main storyline quests and you can take the time to learn the skills you want, practice your rotation etc. (if you've never played the character before).

Otherwise you run the risk of looking like one of those CP660 idiots who are USELESS in the vet dungeon, not cos they're a **** player generally, but because they've sped through a new character via desert circles and then jump from Level 49 to CP 660 and have no idea how to play their role.

    Do both.

It took me 6 hrs and 37 minutes /played to make my toon lvl50 at XMas fest. And that's not the very best.
