DESTRUCTION STAFF ENCHANTS PVP

Hi guys,

I need some clarity please.

I’m experimenting with different enchants for my fire staff and would like appreciate some input from you guys.

I’m running destruction staff on my High Elf Sorcerer front bar and using Crushing shock with shock enchant as my main single target DPS. It interrupts and sets enemy off balance as well as the shock enchants give concussion.

Would a frost enchant with the same setup give CC/Slowdown, along with the interrupt and off balance effect from the Crushing shock skill?

I would probably stick with shock. I could see the merits of running a disease glyph if you're having trouble bursting down wardens or magplars through their high heals.

No, the frost status effect has been changed sometime ago, it used to slow you down (snare) but now applies minor maim, 15% less damage done, which is not bad at all.

Also, keep in mind that weapon enchants have a (I think) 20% proc chance, so you won't always be getting the status effect. You can increase this to about 60% with a charged weapon, but that would sacrifice some overall DPS and damage to shields.

Shock would be the best enchantment in my opinion, but disease and even frost are strong competitors as well.

Just make sure they aren't Argonian. They will be immune to the defile status effect due to their disease resistance.
