Ok west of Sedya Neen off the coast is a large island. Is there a way of getting to it other than swimming and dying from slaughter fish?

✭✭✭✭✭That's Firemoth Island, and if you do the Morrowind tutorial on a new character, you wind up on the island doing questy things for your tutorial. If you don't do the tutorial, you have a different quest that you do there, picked up in Seyda Neen.
Either you did "Broken Bonds" the tutorial quest or you can pick up "Breaking through the Fog" in Seyda Neen.0
