Not going to give the Santie Claws conspiracy anymore than a withering gaze, as he/she (she, no?) has been a loved and respected community member on this MMORPG forum for some time. There's nothing to dig into there, seriously.

On topic: I wonder if this will be a black fredas style deal, or simply a one day crown item? I suppose I'll know tomorrow

I haven't witnessed once anyone Rping in Eso.I have however seen posts on the xbox eu club encouraging people to give rpers a hard time though.but then again this is a game where you get regularly told to kill yourself at least once daily.
at least thats my experience.

just dont be a *** and let RPers rp without making a whole article telling them to jump off a bridge.
kinda killed the game for me how toxic the community is at least on Xbox Eu.

In every MMO I've ever seen with PvP included, the community is toxic to a greater or lesser degree. It has to do with the PvP attitude of "playing to win" instead of playing to have fun. And before anyone asks, I PvP a lot in between content updates.

As far as RPing goes, there are a lot of RPers in ESO. You just don't see them much because they RP in out of the way places most of the time. There are several vampire RP groups who roleplay in the castles and churchs in Hollow City, Rivenspire and other places like those. There's a Khajiit RP group stationed in S'ren-ja who meet regularly. And there's a group doing Shakespearean type drama in Kvatch a few times a week.

Sorry for the semi-rant, but it just annoys the hell out of me that someone would try to crap on one of the nicest, most helpful people in this community because she roleplays her posts on the forum. When the game community becomes more about "winning" and less about fun, it's time to find another game.

It seems to me that you as a PvE player are stirring the pot.
I play PvP to have fun. BTW

Check out ESO-RP. Various guilds, groups, and fraternities with many scheduled in-game events.

depends on how you take it. some people like to roleplay their in-game characters even in the forums. I also sometimes write my posts here as my khajiit character, but not always, only when I am in the mood to do so.
