What gives you the idea that we are going to have any flying mount in a decade?
And that's the truth of it: if you look at the game very closely you'll notice that TESO is a very two-dimensional game (pun intended), virtual all flying enemies come down to the ground to fight you. The game engine can't handle three-dimensional combat/movement very well.
