So, I'm hearing people talking about getting a Dragon Mount by making Emperor during the Witches Festival. I feel 99.99(repeating)% sure this is a crock of Guar-dung, but it's worth a check. Any validity to this?

I heard a rumor that before ZOS starts work on any other DLC/expansion content after Clockwork City, they were going to work to fix every known glitch in the game, and address every complaint that's been discussed here since the game launched.

Now, it's just a rumor, mind you...but it's every bit as likely to happen as what the OP posted.

The game glitches enough on the ground, just imagine the glitches/the gif/the memes of flying mounts

(Its not eso releasing flying mounts, its guild wars 2 is introducing flying mounts in thier new expansion)

In WoW you can have flying mounts and much of the map you can reach by flying! And it is awesome to fly around!

They do exist. There's even one we know of who's alive and active in Skyrim throughout basically all of Tamriel history after the Dragon War. Hell, Tiber Septim even made a pact with some dragons - that was during the second era which is also when ESO takes place (In fact Tiber is 300 years after ESO) so yes - Dragons are still around, though not in great abundance - certainly not great enough to turn them into mounts and pets or even try to involve them in the story.

That's the lore answer. However we know the reality is they aren't present simply because ZOS is incompetent, lazy - or maybe a bit of both and couldn't design them to save their lives. We're talking about a developer who claims they can't pull off clothe physics, forget about dragon wings and other complex models.

ZOS once said that dragons awake in Skyrim, so in ESO time they do not exist. But it couldn't be further from truth.

In Elder Scrolls Travels: Redguard you can see a dragon named Nafaalilargus. This dragon served Tiber Septim -300 years after ESO time- so it's obvious that there were dragons before Skyrim. Also note that dragons are immortal so Nafaalilargus should be existing in ESO time.

Another dragon is Skakmat which lived in Betony War (3rd Era, year 402).

So the reason we don't see dragons in ESO is that Zenimax won't do it. Excusing Elder Scrolls lore is fully nonsense.

But rewarding an emperor with a dragon is an idea as Nafaalilargus serves Tiber Septim after 300 years

And that's the truth of it: if you look at the game very closely you'll notice that TESO is a very two-dimensional game (pun intended), virtual all flying enemies come down to the ground to fight you. The game engine can't handle three-dimensional combat/movement very well.

is ***, I played wow for 8 years and I never enjoyed fly mounts...it kills the idea of map design since u can skip everything...let aside ESO is far smaller compared to WoW and atm in wow u can skip much of the area already...no thx...flying mounts in eso will never happen luckily...tbh I think most of thee wayshrines should be also removed...there are just 2 many making mounts pretty usless...except for cyrodill

I doubt there will ever be any sort of dragon mounts in this game or any kind of flying mount for that matter. zos only focus is to keep putting reskinned mounts in the crown store of the basic mounts. senche wolf bear horse camel etc there isn't nothing unique anymore. that gets added and if there is It's usually behind a pay wall in the form of crown crates. and alot of the stuff thats in crown crates is just reskinned mounts or costumes and mounts that had been sold in the passed. they get idea's from people all the time about stuff people would like to see but usually just end up ignoring the suggestions. i figured there was going to be some new polymorph added for halloween for the month of October but there wasn't. since in passed years they added a new one to the crown store. maybe they just dont care anymore as long as they keep making money on the stuff being sold. there will probably never ever be anything as cool as a dragon added lol.

Yeah it's not true.

Someone just having some fun trolling and seeing how many they can get to run with the rumour is my guess. Most of the time you can pretty safe in knowing that ZOS won't do anything that stupid.

Flying mounts can hardly be implemented into this game by how it is designed and how the zones are "patchworked" together as separated cells (eso does not have homogeneous zones interconnected into continents like WOW). I doubt developers even contemplated that flying mounts may be added sometimes in the future.
But maybe some kind of ground mount a´lá crippled dragon?

There's a bit more detail available than that, by the way. There's at least five or six dragons who are active in the Second era, including one that was last seen in The Reach sometime around the events of ESO. So, it's entirely possible we could get to see or interact with a dragon at some point. That said, it's very unlikely we'll actually get to fight it, and you're never going to see dragons swarming the skies like it's the 4th era.

That was no rumor...it actually happened. Sadly it was one of those "limited time event" things, and the submarine wouldn't actually go underwater (for obvious reasons), so ZOS removed them from the game. Sorry you missed it, but if it makes you feel any better, Paul was pretty annoying and only wanted to lay around making weird, loud barking noises, and the Octopus's garden was surrounded by Slaughterfish.
