Destiny, not hardly, for me anyways. The new Call of Duty WW2 coming out looks good though, but its not going to stop me from playing ESO ;) .

I don't really get how that can be said, when there's been absolutely no updates or improvements to Cyrodiil, which is the best part of PvP in ESO, to me. Everything else in every DLC/update is PvE, and I'm sure that does make a lot of people happy. I don't give a damn about the Battlegrounds thing they tried with Morrowind, never going to bother with it. But this doesn't mean the devs focus primarily on PvP. I'd say the exact opposite, unfortunately.
the idea that PVP is ESSENTIAL for MMOs has long been ovler sold. The thing about PVP is that it's a form of end game that is doable by small groups or individuals, a type of gameplay that is often fairly varied. and THAT is useful sure, but PVP itself? not really. hell PVP is proably the least important facet of a MMO because there are so many alternatives.
While there are many alternatives as far as "scratching that PvP itch," I still think it's invaluable as far as MMO longevity and replayability.

There's a limited pace at which devs can continually churn out new ideas and create content, lulls between updates and expacs. When players get bored of grinding the same old content, PvP is great both as a primary focus for people who enjoy it and filler for those who just dabble casually in it... because it's spontaneous and unpredictable, everything is a relatively unexpected new experience because you don't know what the other players will do and where they'll go. It's new stimulation when the same old PvE might have become stale. And that will always be the case.

When I came to ESO, I didn't really even want to bother with dungeons because it's the same old thing. I only do them if I'm forced to for gear/sets/monster sets, not for any enjoyment, because I'm tired of the same "learn the mechanics, give it a few tries, memorize it and execute mechanics flawlessly." I did server first Mythic raiding in WoW, I don't really need more of that.
What I truly care about is Cyrodiil PvP, an open battlefield where you can't predict which group will go where and how the map may change. And ESO offers that unique experience, which is unfortunately mostly neglected.

To assume that PvP is unimportant is a mistake.

Well if you were looking for good PvP experience and came to ESO I feel a little sorry for you... What did you expect? Zenimax/Bethesda have no experience in online games, surely not PvP. On the other hand there are companies on the market like Dice for example, who have in their staff PvP games developers with experience of over 15 years..

While ZoS struggle to balance out 4 classes, and don't even have a steady heading, veteran PvP companies think about every minor detail in their games. You won't even believe it if you try them out.

Proper PvP game will bring you a lot of joy, happiness and anger. You will be really angry at times getting owned and will be feeling like a winner when you get the one you hate down. In ESO PvP a player most of the time will experience disappointment. From a lag, loading screen, unbalanced game etc...

Everyone who thinks one game will take them away from another are not true gamers. You find the time for ALL that you enjoy. I've been playing several other games here and there and I still enjoy ESO. Planetside 2, Cities Skylines, my entire Xbox Library of Mass Effect, CoD, Wolfenstein, Halo etc.

I'm beyond excited for Wolfenstein 2 releasing soon, but it won't take me from ESO.

LOTRO was still alive last I checked. Generally there are plenty of people who never really touch PVP in MMOs. the idea that PVP is ESSENTIAL for MMOs has long been ovler sold. Not at all true . Look at the population of PVP games vs PVE games . League of Legends could pay the budget for Lotr a hundred times over . Their neglect for a real PVP system left their population abysmal since launch with the movies still in theatres . Huge mistake for profits . Know why no one can beat wow ? Perfect balance of the two . They pay attention to PVP and PVE and make it competitive . Overwatch , For Honor , Call of Duty , Grand Theft auto . All big budget PVP games out gross PVE only games in the multiplayer section of gaming . It's really time for PVE only players to recognize their numbers are the lowest accross every gaming market . The only place where PVE only is super successful is single player titles and well , that's sort of a no brainer .

You do know Call of Duty started out as a Singleplayer experience only before online Multiplayer became a thing, and even to this day continues to provide Singleplayer Campaigns. You can't really call it just a PvP Game. Nor GTA since that has a huge Singleplayer storyline.

The point remains the same no matter how they started the evolution brought them into PVP online and their sales continue to break old records . The amount of money generated skyrocketing with online PVP versions . Developers know this and corporations know this . Games without those features don't generate the same revenue . Seriously go check into Black Desert , a forced PVP game . Go look how many people are online . Research their current subscriber numbers . They post that because they can . I guarantee you will see a huge difference in population then here .

Destiny already doomed so it won't doom anything else lol. D2 I've finished 100%, all exotics and max level on 3 char. and platinum trophy for the game within 2 and half weeks... the level of replayable content in Destiny is more shallow than a kiddy pool (and I like Destiny.) The bungie forums are currently 90% people expressing the same thing.

how anybody could think it would spell doom for anything?

You are misguided with your beginning comment though... there is far more PVP in ESO than even in Destiny, but both are PVE centric games. Both games are like 90%+ PVE content.

got destiny 2 because i enjoyed destiny 1, yes story in D2 is better but the strikes are boring, the nightfalls are boring, the pvp is better this time around though the lag switchers still infest the game, iron banner returns next week, that was always fun, not done the raid yet, but that will be soon, just waiting for friends to get the power level required.

The game that will hurt a lot off MMO's currently out imo is, anthem, the snippets of that game look epic, the game Destiny should of been.

Not been on ESO now for a week or so, the break has been nice, it was becoming boring, same shite different day, witches festival is when i will more than likely log back on, then the new dlc, hopefully that will be me back on ESO for the long haul again.

The Place by Tony Walsh Please Read
This is the place in the North West of England

It’s ace, it’s the best and the songs that we sing

From the stands, from our bands set the whole planet shaking

Our inventions are legends! There’s nowt we can’t make and

So we make brilliant music. We make brilliant bands

We make goals that make souls leap from seats in the stands

And we make things from steel and we make things from cotton

And we make people laugh, take the mick summat rotten

And we make you at home and we make you feel welcome

And we make summat happen, we can’t seem to help it

And if you’re looking for history then yes, we’ve a wealth

But the Manchester way is to make it yourself

And make us a record, a new number one

And make us a brew while you’re up, love. Go on!

And make us feel proud that you’re winning the league

And make us sing louder and make us believe it

that this is the place that has helped shape the world

And that this the place where a Manchester girl

Name of Emmeline Pankhurst from the streets of Moss Side

Led a Suffragette City with sisterhood pride

And this is the place with appliance of science

We’re on it, atomic, we strut with defiance

In the face of a challenge we always stand tall

Mancunians in union delivered it all

Such as housing and libraries, and health, education

And unions and co-ops, the first railway station

So we’re sorry! Bear with us! We invented commuters!

But we hope you forgive us – we invented computers!

And this is the place Henry Royce strolled with Rolls

And we’ve rocked and we’ve rolled with our own Northern Soul

And so this is the place to do business, then dance

Where go-getters and goal setters know they’ve a chance

And this is the place where we first played as kids

And me Mam lived and died here, she loved it she did

And this is the place where our folks came to work

Where they struggled in puddles, they hurt in the dirt

And they built us a city. They built us these towns

And they coughed on the cobbles to the deafening sound

Of the steaming machines and the screaming of slaves

They were scheming for greatness, they dreamed to their graves

And they left us a spirit, they left us a vibe

The Mancunian Way to survive and to thrive

And to work and to build, to connect and create and

Greater Manchester’s greatness is keeping it great

And so this is the place now we’ve kids of our own

Some are born here, some drawn here but we all call it home

And they’ve covered the cobbles, but they’ll never defeat

All the dreamers and schemers who still teem through these streets

Because this is a place that has been through some hard times

Oppressions, recessions, depressions and dark times

But we keep fighting back with Greater Manchester spirit

Northern grit, northern wit in Greater Manchester’s lyrics

And there’s hard times again in these streets of our city

But we won’t take defeat and we don’t want your pity

Because this a place where we stand strong together

With a smile on our face, Mancunians Forever

And we’ve got this* as the place where a team with a dream (*Forever Manchester)

Can get funding and something to help with their scheme

Because this is the place that understands your grand plans

We don’t do No Can Do, we just stress Yes We Can!

Forever Manchester’s a charity for people round ‘ere

You can fundraise, donate. You can be a volunteer

You can live local, give local. We can honestly say

We do charity differently, that Mancunian Way

And we fund local kids, and we fund local teams

We support local dreamers to work for their dreams

We support local groups and the great work they do

So can you …help us help… local people like you?

Because this is the place in our hearts, in our homes

Because this is the place that’s a part of our bones

‘Cos Greater Manchester gives us such strength from the fact

That this is the place. We should give something back.

Always remember. Never forget. Forever Manchester.
