There's a couple games that will take people away . The die hard fans will stay . The game won't die though . Really bad pay to win models are in those new games so some people will see it and return .

I might buy Destiny on PC when it releases, if I can convince my friends to buy and play it with me. Its got that kind of mindless fun thing going for it. But I'm also still really enjoying ESO and I have a lot going here so this will still be my main game.

Destiny is a PvPMMO, this game is a PvE MMO for 80% of the game. Destiny will not bring the doom for ESO.

The fact most devs appear to be in the 20% that believe this game is a PvPMMO is more troubling than the presence of Destiny 2, WoW, Hello Kitty or whatever is the vogue flavor of the moment MMO is...

Actually playing on PC EU I've never met anyone younger than 20 years old. There are definitely not many 14 y/o out there playing this game.

@MyKillv2.0 You are wrong, just watch youtube. It's same like ESO, PvE with raids etc, and PvP.

Pve only mmos dont last. Theres a reason to have a healthy pvp environment

Why would you think that when 80%+ of all dlc's and expansions are pve content?

Sadly, im giving Destiny 2 a pass, its just Destiny 1 only with bigger micro transactions, a B.S Dye system, and other things they keep making mistakes on, yes the gunplay is excellent, and heck they even added a hell of alot more story this time, but everything else....the game just feels like an expansion, and should have been.

Heres someone who knows... I can't agree more, 6 hours and you have completed the game, all thats left is the new raid (which is crap by Bungie standards), then all you have left is the same old strikes over and over, the same old small pvp 4v4 maps over and over, sure the micro-transanctions are in your face..

If you want a fps thats fun then by all means go for it, Bungie really do excel at gun mechanics, if you want a challange in your game play then forget it, the game is faceroll easy and dumbed down drastically to appease the masses. There are videos out there of streamers doing the main content and actually walking from the start of the mission to the end being shot at constantly and just not dying, not even having to fire a shot in return.. is that fun?, However if you want longevity from a game then D2 is not for you.. not one person i have spoken to says it is worth the money, its just a D1 rehash.

Oh... and don't get me going on D2 build diversity..

LOTRO was still alive last I checked. Generally there are plenty of people who never really touch PVP in MMOs. the idea that PVP is ESSENTIAL for MMOs has long been ovler sold. The thing about PVP is that it's a form of end game that is doable by small groups or individuals, a type of gameplay that is often fairly varied. and THAT is useful sure, but PVP itself? not really. hell PVP is proably the least important facet of a MMO because there are so many alternatives. (many FPSes and MOBAs offer a better PVP experiance then a MMO ever could, because they are 100% designed around PVP.)

I personally enjoy the hell out of Destiny and it has taken all my gaming time. ESO is on the back burner unless friends say they want to do dungeons.

Destiny requires very little time commitment. I can do a strike in 20 minutes. Crucible matches are 8 minutes and fun to play. Basically, because my gaming schedule is tightened, being able to do things in more bite sized morsels has its appeal. Not to mention, ESO is uber grindy and that just sucks away my gaming energy/interest atm.

Will Destiny dent ESO, though? Perhaps. Not versed enough to know how large the Venn intersection of the two gaming groups are to hazard much of a guess.
