Thoughts on PvP NB's

I'm the first to admit NB's give me issues as a Mag Sorc but I did figure out something odd about them after having several long engagements with them 1 v 1. A lot of the more formidable NB's all seem to have the same exact build. Aside from Radiant Magelight not really helping against their burst, during a prolonged fight I noted right away that my two heaviest hitters, Frag, and Flaming Reach, almost always miss, or are dodged. Literally like 90% of the time. The only thing I could hit with is my flame staff, Degeneration, and Endless Fury. If my heavy hitters DO happen to hit, it does very minimal damage literally like 1.5k-2k. That pretty much takes my burst damage away from me. Now I know NB gear and passives etc can give them a pretty good chance to dodge but how it is that my main attacks or always dodged or they miss, and I mean they literally miss every time.

There was also an instance where a NB appeared in front of Nik and just stood there. Me and another Sorc started range attacking him. He didn't even fight back, he just stood there while we dps'd him, he cast "Rally" and nothing we did even got him below 80% health. This to me seems entirely OP and doesn't seem like a matter of gear. He may have been a tanky build but he also hits like a ton of bricks. That seems like the best of all worlds and something decidedly stinks about it. If a NB can just stand there letting 2 Sorcs dps him with no fear of dying, imagine what a group of them do, and they do travel in packs with the occasional healer and Sorc (whose shields never budge).

Some people say its some kind of "dodge cheat" and I'm always skeptical about "cheats" but that seems odd that they can dodge so much that other classes have little or no chance to defeat them.

There's also something very fishy about a particular Sorc I see who when they get knocked down, like they automatically pop back up instantly like its automated. Their body goes flat but never touched the ground, its literally back up that fast. I have never seen that before in game.

Miats. Its a common but allowed notifier that makes 1v1s against stam builds broken.

NB is a sorcs counter, forcing them out of mines and getting around their burst well. No offense, but if you aren't exp players and time busts/ccs then it can feel like the enemy is cheating by casually healing.

Agreed, the dodge is very likely miats. And a heavy armor NB can very easily stack a lot of damage but so can any heavy armor stam build. That’s why we need balance brought to heavy armor and to some extent light armor which also out performs medium when considering the combined penetration and shielding ability. As for the person who got knocked down but able to get up immediately, that’s what very very low latency and a good system will allow you to do. You can cc break in mid air. I’m lucky if I get that kind of performance once in a blue moon but some have it most of the time and it’s a very distinct advantage.

Please don’t start calling for NB nerfs.

Lol an NB standing there healing? Put a DK or Temp in front of you, add about 6 more people on them and you’ll see what defense looks like.

Sounds like Miat's and heavy armor. Stamblade is super strong 1v1 or 1v2 but anything more and it can be difficult to manage due to sustain and lack of healing plus all these undodge-able skills. Magicka nightblade can do SOOOOO much healing while doing damage, but unlike templar they lack a burst heal and just have strong passive heals

By the sounds of it this post was referencing Stamina Nightblades, right?

If he was standing there letting you hit him he was probably building up fury etc and then that's why he hit like a freight train.

The dodge is probably the controversial add-on that tells people when to dodge
