Should saved undaunted keys count as trait change gems? ***POLL***

Since we heard clockwork city is bringing weapon trait change and many of us are excited.

Atm we can not work towards progressing in earning trait crystals so maybe it would be a good idea when clockwork city drops to allow turning in gold undaunted keys for a triat change gem.

Seems fair to me and it would give us something to do in meantime.

I know i for one have atleast 5 weapons i need to change so it would be cool if at launch we can turn in saved undaunted keys for crystals.

Dont see why it would hurt what you guys think?

I can see the reasoning behind it. Peeps who have been doing vet shite regardless, getting to reap their rewards. However, in terms of practicality, it's likely to be more trouble than its worth to convert keys.

Undaunted Chests are still gonna be a thing. Hell, ZoS might add more to the loot table for the undaunted plunder chests for all we know.

For now, let's leave it alone.

This kind of change would let players have access to transmute without doing any content.

I have 150+ keys so I would benefit ... but I still don't like this "free pass" idea.

It is bad enough we can stockpile keys while waiting for new sets. Nobody should have advantage over others at getting new items based on play previous to the items coming out.

Yes because there isn't many reasons for long time players who have all the shoulders they need to do pledges...outside of levelling undaunted for newer toons. This will get more people both casual and hardcore back into the pledge scene. I say casual and hardcore because you can get a nice key while running normal too which I think was an amazing change.

Keys only work for moster sets in undaunted chests... tell me whats the point of doing pledges right now if i have every monster shoulder piece in every trait i need?

Not sure why 'stockpiling' keys is a bad thing - should they come with a 'use by date' or something?

Maybe your suggestion should go for gold and housing as well; you should not be able to use gold earned before a house becomes available (to pay for that house) as you are getting an advantage over newer players - how unfair.

My keys come from leveling up my characters and running undaunted with friends when they are leveling up. I have 350 or more across about 6 characters because I am not after any monster shoulders and using them would lead to me having painful inventory issues.

I would appreciate the ability to do something with them, sell them, trade them, cash them in - anything - but as I only have the choice of holding onto them or destroying them, I choose to keep them.

Yes. Every key means a completed pledge. Why should the work and in some cases hundreds of runs not count? People made it through them and saved the keys, why not reward it?
We already know that they won't count, which just means: A new thing we can grind in ESO.

Guildmate has an bank alt called monster sets :)
One issue with the new crystals is the cap, you can not save up to re-trait future sets or even farm dungeon hoping for right trait in all pieces, Say you farm vCoH1 for ebon for your tank, problem is that you can just farm 200 crystals, note that you are also farming lich for healer alt, you only run WGT in normal for pugs.
Yes you can run vCoH1 on healer to but you still have the 200 crystal limit.

Grinding just make you go in circles.

Noo.... keys and gems are different things. You shouldn't be able to convert keys to gems, seems like a lazy cop out. Grind for gems if you need gems.

Personally I always end up using my keys however, so really would not benefit me too much.

There is none other than because it is fun and if they allow you to use keys to purchase crystals there would still be no reason for most people that run them. Why? Because they would use the keys they have now to get the crystals they need. When the change happens you will be able to get fragments/crystals by running the pledges thus giving you and others a reason to do the pledges.

Attaching something new to the content gives reason to start doing that content again. Simply allowing players to get the new with what they have already earned doesn't promote repeating that content.

    Yes but
So how about not using existing writ vouchers to purchase the 1250 voucher table then - only those vouchers you earn after the DLC drops. That will make people start doing daily writs again - same principle. I currently have about 3000 vouchers - how dare I have such an advantage.

If I want the crystals, and that is a big if, I will simply farm the easiest 1 or 2 vet dungeons over and over and over again on pledge days. I have about 10 characters that I can run through them with, so even if they only come from undaunted pledges, it wouldn't take long at all to get 40 crystals anyway.

Or should I not be able to use my supply of pre-leveled characters either?
Maybe I should also not be able to use my existing 9 trait crafter to transmute with either?

People that have been playing a long time are always going to be ahead of the curve when new things come out - that is just the way it is.

Just to clarify for people who are unaware.....

Transmutation will NOT be a super quick process to get all perfect traits. You are still meant to grind gear and play the game as intended. This system is meant to help you take a bad trait-version of the item you're looking for (DSA/MA/Asylum weapons, monster pieces, elusive set pieces, etc) and end what could be an extremely time-consuming grind by entirely bypassing it. Awesome system but one that is meant for you to use on only some items.

Well, I have 600+ keys saved, so I wouldn't be against using them to transmute. :) But... it's okay for me if they don't do that. I'm looking forward to finally have a good reason to do random vet dungeons.
