Addon question.

Is there an addon that lets you see the targeted enemy after they used an invis potion from 30 + meters away? Because that is literally the only explanation of what just happened to me. I wish I could show a video, but a sorc casted daedric curse on me from 30 meters away , no mage light or anything like that used on me, while I was invis from a potion. I dont know what that was, but it was absolute nonsense, and wiht addons like Miats around, I wouldnt put it passed add on devs to make something like that.

End angry rant.

Curse has a morph that explodes twice. You likely already had one halfway-burnt when you cloaked and ran.

Sorcs can also pull you out of stealth with defensive rune if you happen to have an active DoT harming them.

No dot on them, and according to debuffs nothing was on me. If that were the case id say fair game, but they were at least 100 meters away when i used the pot. Thats whyi was aggravated, they closed in on me exactly, and then used the curse when i was buff / debuffless

Nothing public that I'm aware of. This doesn't mean there aren't third party tools or unpublished addons that use unintended API options to have that result, though.

All detect skills/pots over rule invisible skills/pots no matter when you use it, if the detect is still active. As far as I know.

This is why I was against add ons in the first place, because it is / was just a matter of time before stuff like that happens / happened....

There's no addon that does that. You would need to be targetable for him to put the curse on you.

Let's break this down...

Did he cast curse on you from max range?

You were fighting and hit invis pot.. how long after you hit that pot did he cast curse on you?

Was there anyone else around?

Isn't there a poison that prevents people from going invis? Is it possible he used that?

Are you sure the curse was the first thing he casted on you?

What class are you?

The main thing I'm curious about is how long in between the invis pot and the curse. But I'm also curious about the fight before that. I'm guessing you were fighting and wanted to get away so you used a pot... is that when you started running away?

My money is on lag + detect pot

Did he cast curse on you from max range? Yes

You were fighting and hit invis pot.. how long after you hit that pot did he cast curse on you? Was not fighting, was not engaged, person saw me from a good 100 meters away, I hit invis pot, person still approached me, like he knew exactly where I was, even after zig zagging randomly and having major expedition from pot as well.

Was there anyone else around? Not that I saw, zerg was approaching, but they all veered in a different direction.

Are you sure the curse was the first thing he casted on you? Yes, and it was cast while I was invis.

What class are you? In this case it was a stamdk, but it happened to my archer stmaden too who has all medium armor and is bosmer, with thieves guild passives.

The main thing I'm curious about is how long in between the invis pot and the curse. But I'm also curious about the fight before that. I'm guessing you were fighting and wanted to get away so you used a pot... is that when you started running away? I saw a huge zerg approaching me, was not fighting before hand, so i hit a invis / speed pot and tried to avoid them, but this one sorc broke from the group, and literally targeted me while invis and casted curse from 30 meters. You can understand why I was a little irked / confused

So, either your calculation was inaccurate, and, in that case, easy explanation, detect pot, or that guy was using CE to remove range. I'm leaning towards the first, because you might've seen his character farther away, while he was, in fact, much closer. Happens all the times with the lag going on. That said, it's not impossible he was using a 3rd party (not Miat, nor any other addon) to actually cheat.

I am thinking lag myself. I never ever play sorc, so I didnt know the range, so I just assumed, so sue me. That still doesnt explain how he zeroed in on me after i used the pot. He did the very same thing on another character of mine, and I watched him do it on someone in my group as well. So either he has lag going in his favor, or there is something else.
