There should be an area on your gear under the glyph that tells you what you have on it. Legendary, epic, etc. These numbers fluctuate depending on passives such as champion points, class skill lines and traits. I am constantly upgrading gear and can't remember which pieces I already have legendary glyphs on
Maybe there is an addon, I simply go by what stats they show.
Which can be hard if you are not used to what they show and how they are affected by your armour.
IMO it's easy enough to figure out which Essence the rune is - the problem for me is figuring out the Aspect (or rarity) - considering the numbers fluctuate across pieces of gear - I mean a Jejota Rune will have higher stats on a chest piece than even a Kuta one of the same Essence on a belt. It makes it hella hard to know which runes I need to upgrade without actually crafting the rune first and then going piece by piece to see which numbers turn green.
Too bad I'm also on console, so even if an addon exists, no such luck
"You must defeat me every time. I need defeat you only once"
Well I normally compare with other gear with the same enchant and trait. Note gear's enchant also improve if you improve the gear. I save alot of Kuta this way.

@lagrue you have the preview on when you are at the enchanting table, you can compare that number to the armour piece you are unsure of. Then you also look if the armour piece is upgraded to full legendary or less so it give the full glyph value and also if it is infused or not and you should be able to tell.
If you gear is purple and not infused you can go to the Armor craft bench and preview what stats the glyph will have in legendary which will be the same as as the glyph you are thinking of doing if it is the same. If it is infused you have to do some math
Not a great way, but doable.
Chest, helm and legs give full glyph value the other have reduced value.
Moons and sands shall be your guide and path.
