Do GM's deserve some love?

No doubt that a good GM anlong with their officers (don't forget them) make all the difference in the world.

I fear that rather than a reward for being a good GM, it would be seen more like an incentive to make your own guild by most. Those good officer teams will start to break up to get their own GM achievement. Not to mention the nonstop random guild invites that will be spammed in any and every city.

There are a lot of things I'd change for guild achievements. Like a leader board list for how many members have important titles. I.e. 24 former emporers, 16 dromathra destroyers. 75 stormproofs, and 16 flawless. Also a trial queue in the guild info menu so that trial scores can recorded by guild as well as individual.

I think GM's can be very under appreciated for the work they do.

After leading a PvP Guild/Alliance for months I will say it was probably one of the most stressful and work intensive periods I've had in ESO. I would spend a lot of my time at work on our forums, WhatsApp or Skype trying to organise content and sort squabbles.

That said, it's also a very rewarding job to see your work come together and enjoy the happy comments from your members who had content that evening because of your work.

Very true and creating empty rewards via achievements and titles could have a negative affect on strong guilds we have now. Someone who is a fan favorite within the guild may want the title and leave one of their guilds to form a new one, pulling members from the guild, all to get the title and achievement. So it could drive selfish interests rather than reward those who work hard and do well.

Absolutely not. They won't even respond to multiple 85%+ favorable polls on crafted jewelry but they are reading them obviously because they pop in and comment on meaningless threads at their leisure. They consistently ignore the preferences of the customers. They even continue to nerf classes after multiple polls basically begging them to stop. And don't even get me started on the auction house which would greatly benefit all but the wealthiest players.

The rules on GM's and what they get are crystal clear, its all right there in black and white.

Back in the day when I bothered with guilds before all the drama queens and internal politics put me off for good, I used to help run guilds, cities and kingdoms etc in both MMORPGs and MUDs. I never came across a single GM or other leader who did it for recognition, reward, or ingame achievements, and if I had done I would have been highly suspicious of their motivation. They all did it because they wanted to play the game fully and help others to do the same.

I guess it all goes to show how much guilds have changed over the intervening years, not least in the case of ESO where the very concept of belonging to as many as five guilds (with all your characters forced to belong, mind) has changed the whole meaning and purpose of guilds anyway.

I don't doubt that there are some decent and traditional guilds in ESO but mostly they just seem to be a means to an end so far as the trading system is concerned, and I fail to see why someone should get any kind of recognition, reward or ingame achievement for securing a weekly kiosk and running a raffle to pay for it.
