hi, so i wanted to send my good friend(i have known him for almost a year) 1mil gold so he could gold out 2 of his characters. he doesn't enjoy getting gold, but i really do so i wanted to give him my gold so he wouldn't have to do something he wouldn't. i really don't want to get banned i play this game all the time and i have bought a lot of crowns, the last thing i want is to get banned thanks please give me your advice

Don't send that gold. You'll get flagged as a gold spammer by the system and will be treated as guilty until proven innocent.
Maybe buy your friend the tempers and send them to him/her yourself.

Also, does it really take a mil to gold out two characters? I do enough wrists and gathering never to have bought a temper, but that seems excessive.

Just COD it in an email or give face to face via trade option if same platform, if not, no chance.

AFAIK it's not bannable to gift someone gold, or indeed anything.

That’s excessive. While I don’t agree with ZOS monitoring this at all mainly for this reason, they do regardless. This looks suspicious. Golding his gear shouldn’t cost even half that much. Just buy it for him.

on xbox eu a temp costs 10k his character is 5 heavy 1 medium 1 light so 5x8=40x10k=400k
wax costs 7k each 7kx16=112k sword and board and a two hander
sword+two hander= 16 temps x10k=160k
plus shield 8 rosin 8k each=64k

grand total=736k for that one character

i would just let him gold it out himself but he golded out his first character and it took him 3 months to get all the gold/mats to do it, and he almost quit the game during that time because he hated farming that much. i don't want to see him like that again, when i have he gold to just give it to him

I had 2 friends return to the game, since trait change news. Gifted them ~500k each and a lot of potions/tempers and other things so they could play and not start back grinding, nothing was flagged on me.

Best bet is to send in a ticket asking for advice if your unsure. I didnt but i have millions of gold and items, never thought it would be an issue )

You shouldn't have an issue, I sent a buddy 2 million gold not long ago and had no issues. This was on console, and he is on my friends list. It's my friend irl though...

I got sent 1.2 million a week ago, i sent back 800,000 a few days later, my account is still fine and no detrimental effects.

As I understand it, if you are on each others friend's lists and have interacted ingame, it's *less* suspicious. I think it only gets flagged as gold selling if you send it to/from a brand new account or if you've never interacted with that character before.

No problem, I have two ESO accounts and send myself gold and other items all the time.
That is why they have the send gold option in mail.

Why not just buy him the tempers he'd need and send those?

If he doesn't have a crafter with the maxed passives, he could get a guildie to do it for him. 2 green, 3 blue, 4 purple and 8 gold tempers for each piece of gear; 100% chance of improving the item when you have the passive maxed.

I quite often send my wife a couple of 100k when she runs low so she can buy furniture or kit out one of her alts simply because she doesn't play as much as I do - I haven't had any issues with this.

I send large sums of gold to my wife on the regular. I'd say I've probably sent her 10-15m gold over the years in amounts from 50k-500k and never had any issues.

I send large amounts of gold through the mail all the time for prizes from different guild activities. I've never had an issue. Why should that be any different? I'm sure you're fine if your general activity doesn't show any other indications of inappropriate behavior.

Guild raffles and donations can get pretty big and haven't heard any issues coming from that. People also have alts for more selling slots on traders and that gold has to come back some way too. You should be fine.

so i ended up just buying the mats to gold out one character and gave them to him to face to face and later I'll probably give buy the mats for the second character, thank you guys/gals for your advice, I am hoping that I don't get banned, Thanks again

This doesn't make much sense. When housing first dropped, there were lots of people selling master writts for well over a million gold. Same with sharpened IA and MD staffs. Why would anyone think they'll get in trouble for passing a million gold to a friend?

This as other says it require lots of sending for flagging.
If they use flagging at all its probably based on other criteria to, sending to brand new accounts regularly, previously flagged for boting and stuff like that.
