Bow of the Viper

I saw Bow of the Viper selling for 1.5m, my MM is registering this at almost 2m item and has several sales backing it... WHY?! I can't figure out why this bow for this set is selling for some much.

There are some players who like to use that set and that particular trait is probably desired.

After this upcoming update the price should drop since we can retrait items. The desired traits will cost less as a result.

perhaps its because viper is a dungeon set and currently BOP? If this was a remnant from before that change then it could be a collectors thing?

Its kinda' like fleabay. You can list the item for any price you want, doesn't mean it's worth that much. This set especially since the bow was taken out of drops in the dungeon due to it not proccing the poison damage anyhow.

They've probably had it for a LONG time before dungeon sets became bind on pick up

The vipers bow isan't part of the loot table anymore, so you can't get it unless you find one in a trader.

Viper used to proc off all kinda stuff not melee. He might not know that was fixed.

@Maikon, it drops in Fungal Grotto. It's also bind on pickup, making selling it kinda tricky.

Could also be that he's using a dual wield on the front (five piece) and then has the bow on the back bar to still gain the fourth piece bonus to weapon crit.

I'm quite sure the bow doesn't proc the effect anyway so...

I do believe poisons still proc it. Not sure if that bug was fixed but that was a big months ago Heavy Attack > Snipe > Poison Injection and light attack and if the poison proced it would proc the Viper as poison counted as melee.
