Let us trade in one item for another item from one of the lower categories. So if you get an Apex Mount you don’t want, you can trade it for a Legendary item. If you get a Legendary item, you can trade it for an Epic item and so on. I don’t want this stupid Dwarven crap. I’d honest-to-god rather you remove it from my account and leave me with nothing than keep it. But I’d PREFER a way to at least get something out of it.

On the basis you already purchased them in the first place - giving players more choice on aesthetic items is a good thing to be encouraged, not discouraged for the sake of greasing out a few extra $$.
In fact being restrictive on this, pushes me personally to purchase less/none.1 -

The more ripped off I feel, the less likely I am to buy these things in the future. There are already idiots spending thousands to get one of their extortionately-rare, crate-exclusive mounts. They don’t need to be so ridiculously greedy.0
