I hear over and over that eventually ZoS will upgrade the gear level to cp180 or cp200 therefore making players who have multiple characters have to gring ALL OVER AGAIN.

I think i speak for a lot of people when i say this and if ZoS were to increase max level for gear i would definitely quit this game for good.

Make all the balance changes you want ( good or bad ) but please do not touch the cp160 geaf.

Or if you ever do ( which i dont see why ) atleast make it to where you can upgrade it yourself without having to farm new pieces.

I got 9 characters this would suck :(

What if they upgraded all existing CP160 to match max CP gear on the day of patch?

lol I guess you have never played any other MMO, they will eventually raise gear cp level. Stop complaining....oh and you speak for yourself there may be people that agree with you, but in the end you ONLY speak for yourself. And if you throw a tantrum and quit can I have your stuff peoples........just wipe the tears and snot off first before you send it.

    They won't do it.

This rumour started last year, before One Tamriel came out and the game was still following the WoW progression model (there was no scaling back then). They were going to scrap OT if it wasn't well received and go back to the WoW model.

When One Tamriel came out and the player base tripled, that went out the window. There is no way they would scrap such a successful change now.

You can't have a gear cap increase in a game with scaling.

I've never seen any official decision on them raising the gear cap.

Every topic about this is based around people asking what the reason would be and other people just stating it's coming with no factual evidence.

So I ask you, what is the reason for a CP gear level increase other than to just re grind all gear for funzies?
I'm a PVE roleplayer concerned about my vampires stage 4 skin tone and keep getting load screens so I came here to distract people from major issues with a rant thread about my characters cosmetic appearance.

Gear cap increase is impossible in ESO as of One Tamriel's launch. So no, they won't raise the cap eventually.

    Other MMOs don't use scaling.

I don't understand, you get higher levels and the gear becomes weaker, forcing you to farm gear just to get back the stats.
If this is to happen, crafting better get a way to improve gear level, or I will probably be done playing too.

It would be even better if crafted sets got revamped but that's just wishful thinking.

People don't understand how gear caps and scaling work.

The gear cap is raised in games with no scaling, like WoW. Blizzard releases a new zone where all the mobs are a higher level. You then quest through that zone, obtaining the new gear. It's a way for them to linearly move the story forward. This new gear makes you more powerful as all older content becomes easier.

ESO doesn't have linear progression. New zones are released at the same level as all previous zones. New gear does not make you more powerful and the difficulty of all old content remains exactly the same.

A gear cap increase in a game with scaling makes no sense.

One Tamriel tripled the player base and skyrocketed the game's rating among critics. There is no chance they scrap it.

This, add that gear in ESO works very different from WOW, In WOW you do harder and harder content to get better and better gear. In ESO its luck, pet sorcerer uses crafted+ overland, many stamina build want trial gear, still you can often twist it so you use normal level trial gear and overland or easy dungeon for second set.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

If they do, hopefully there will be a way to upgrade cp160 stuff to the new rank. That includes jewellery.

Otherwise, a lot of people would be done.
