Why can't we preview locked dyes and armour styles?

Seriously, why? I'd like to know how stuff looks to decide whether to go work on achievements or motiff hunting.

✭✭✭I can guess on locked dyes, you have to get the achievement for the dye.
On armor styles - that IS a good question. The tiny previews are often misleading, and I really do want to see what it looks like on my character before crafting with an expensive style material. ESO fashion is a good reference, but it can't cover all the body types and possilbe stretch issues.1 -

The whole point is to be able to immediatelly see what stuff looks like ingame when you have crafting station opened - typically how the crafted piece would look like in combination with the rest of the armour you're currently wearing.0 -
Korlian✭✭Not being able to preview the armor style etc before crafting it has been frustrating me for years already. It's also lead to me not really bothering to craft stuff for myself even though I want to. Trying to look this stuff up on the web is far from ideal, it's frankly quite misleading. This would be a super addition to have in the game, and honestly, they already got it for their crown store motifs, please let us do the same when crafting.1
